One of the best hotel in South Korea! Everything was perfect & excellent 👍 Staff is amazing, and very friendly. Especially Ms Elly. we also have received a free upgrade room to the river view The room is very clean, modern, fantastic Infinite pool and gym is awesome!

Staff is amazing, and very friendly. We received a late checkout since we had an evening flight. Well sized room too. Amazing views of the river. Too bad the pool was under maintenance and coffee shop only opens at 10:00 am...

Quality Hotel~ But NOT Great for Foreigners

As an expat based in Seoul, I have a vested interest in this hotel’s success—which is why I am providing constructive feedback. I posted some comments a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised to get a thorough response from the GM stating that he was personally following up on the issues. Accordingly, I deleted the review as Trip Advisor doesn’t have an option to update or edit reviews/ratings. In short, this is a really nice 4-star hotel—which is why I am giving it 4 stars. However, there are certain things that many foreigners (particularly Westerners) will not understand if they are accustomed to staying at international properties like Marriott or Hilton. For example, there are excessive rules for use of all amenities. Staff are trained to focus on what guests “can’t do” rather than the positives of what they “can do.” As a hotel guest, you must schedule around specific reserved time slots for buffet meals, gym/sauna use, and swimming pool access. You are also limited in the amount of time you can spend in each facility. This can be a shock to foreigners who are accustomed to doing what they want, when they want (without any constraints), while on vacation or work travel. To be fair to the hotel, this is mainly to control overcrowding in the restaurants or at the pool. The ‘cultural’ aspect is very prevalent throughout hotel policy. However, the pool area, in particular, is incredibly mismanaged. Management seems to think a pool with incredible views to take backdrop Instagram photos is sufficient to make guests happy. They still force everyone into the outdoor pool (which is incredibly shallow—about waist high) despite having open lounge chairs. By the way, anyone who has taken Business 101 knows the simple concept of comfortable and happy patrons naturally leads to increased food and beverage purchases. If patrons feel like they are being forced to purchase overpriced drinks just to enjoy a lounge chair, they tend to be unhappy and end up not purchasing anything. This leads to overcrowding in the pool--which means nobody can actually swim or simply relax. If all you care about is getting a “perfect” picture on the edge of the pool, feel free to wait in line. If you want to enjoy a relaxing day at the pool, there are much better options. Recommendation: Despite the issues with the current pool situation, there is immense potential if management is willing to invest in a better customer experience: 1- Increase the depth of the pool to make it more sanitary and more enjoyable for swimming and not just taking photos. This will not be that expensive if you simply attach pre-made 15-20 cm cinderblocks around all the edges with a proper width that allows people to blow their noses and spit water into the drains instead of inside the pool. 2- Add a second level to the lounge area using outdoor car garage frame material that is strong and relatively inexpensive. This will reduce overcrowding in the pool if customers are able to lounge and relax outside the pool. 3- Add additional restrooms near the outdoor pool area to accommodate customers who are tempted to urinate in the pool when the facilities are crowded. NOTE: If you are a foreigner who wants to see the amazing river views from this hotel, you should try to make your reservations outside of peak season (JUL-AUG)—unless management invests in the recommendations outlined above. Also, if you hate seemingly arbitrary rules when you’re on vacation, this is not the hotel for you.^^
