Disappointing

SLS was one of my favorite luxury stays, unfortunately. My last stay was super disappointing. I was visiting with my family we took two bedrooms and one penthouse. We experienced a lot of delays in room service, bell service, or even laundry services. For example, I have contacted laundry services to pick up a dress to iron, a 37 minutes has passed and no one came. When I contacted again, the guy responded with interrogation questions instead of apologies and making sure that someone picks up the dress. We had to leave for fee hours and recall again for pick up. Another unpleasant experience we had is the check out, I have contacted the bill service to pick up luggage 3 times, no one came to the room until hours passed and I had to ask the receptionist who I checked out with, he was super helpful and was very professional. Furthermore, there was a lady in the reception that was extremely unprofessional, unfortunately, I did not get her name but she was asian, long black hair, and was wearing a pink/salmon suit. I have gave her my step-brother’s room card asking her to fix the key as it doesn’t work. She started to interrogate why, and who am I. And of course I appreciate the security, and this is your total right to do so. But unfortunately, she was very unpleasant. She asked for an ID, I did not have mine so I gave her my mom’s, who is my step-brother’s mom as well. She asked me why do I need to go in, and I respectfully answered when this is none of anyone’s business. She is obliged to contact my step-brother to ask if she could let me in, without assuming that I have bad intentions and she acts on it without being sure of what the situation really is. That is definitely doesn’t reflect SLS chain’s image, and I am super disappointed.

My review is a bit conflicted as I found that the hotel was in a great location (I usually stay in a hotel on The Palm), the hotel itself is beautiful, all staff are really friendly and welcoming. However, I had booked and paid for a Signature King City View room and that is NOT the room I was given. The view from my balcony was baron land undergoing construction, so I felt conned in a way, although the room itself was nice, it is Not what I had paid extra for, when booking the Signature King City View. Secondly, I wanted to take a look at the pool and I was denied access even though I was there before the advertised closing time, I was told it was because of the upcoming storm but the storm was forecast for the following day and it was, at that time a nice sunny afternoon. These two experiences at SLS left a sour taste in my mouth unfortunately. Which is why I’ve been forced to give such a low rating.

The room we were given was right next to a very noisy construction site. Went well into the night and started again early hours of the morning. Unfortunately, we had a problem with flies in the room which we did flag up a few times On a positive note the staff were absolutely lovely as was the breakfast restaurant.
