Disappointed in this hotel especially after reading all the positive reviews. The reception area looks lovely and the welcome in reception was great, very friendly and informative, unfortunately the hotel itself lets the staff down. We booked a privilege king room and unfortunately found the room small and not of a great quality. The bathroom was tiny and although the room was marketed as refurbished the bathroom had definitely seen much better days. It was also incredibly difficult to get in and out of the bath due to the lack of space. The bedroom itself was small and although nicely decorated there was a sever lack of plug sockets especially next to the tea and coffee making facilities, we had to unplug the fridge to use the kettle. The fridge also seemed like a bit of a afterthought in a cabinet plonked in the corner of the room. It's a shame during the refurbishment that the fridge and tea and coffee making hasn't been built into the TV and wardrobe units. There was also no plug socket beside the mirror in the room, not ideal when trying to get ready in the morning. The corridors were also very grimy and needed sprucing up and there seemed to be a lot of questionable stains on the hallway carpets. The bar was also not great, not much choice of drinks and we were the only guests in there so difficult to find a member of staff at the bar as presumably they were off doing other jobs. Overall a disappointing stay, they hotel is marketed as 4 star and the room we reserved as a refurbished privilege room but unfortunately the quality of the room far fell below expectations.
