Most comfortable hotel bed ever.

I've stayed in a lot of hotel rooms and this one wins for the most comfortable bed - the balcony suites anyway. All my friends agree too - better than the Hilton, Sofitel, Westin, Treasury, Marriott, etc... It's good, I've stayed here a number of times, but this time I had room 420 which was right down the end of the hotel and the internet on a laptop was rubbish. Next to the front door, it was great - full strength - but at the desk it kept dropping out, and on the balcony, forget it. Not great when you have work to do in your room. You guys need to increase the strength so it works properly everywhere in that room. The shower also made a horrible whining noise and the water pressure went up and down like when someone steps on and off a hose. There were people partying upstairs but my complaint was rectified within about 10 minutes and there was no further noise. Aircon works properly and is adjustable degree by degree. The pool is great. Gym's good too. No bar, which is bad because the hotel is not really near a lot of wine bars, unless you count the Sportsman which is mainly a gay bar - it's a lot of fun and welcomes everybody, but it's not exactly classy.

Comfortable but not really central

We booked this as part of a package deal and on ‘paper’ it looks like a good location, but it’s not very central. Parking is an issue in Brisbane so when you drive somewhere there is nowhere to park and you have to walk miles! So many of the eateries were either closed in the early part of the week or closed early even in peak holiday season.

Run down and overpriced

Unfortunately, we found The Johnson apartment to be quite run down, dark and relatively small compared to other alternatives, especially for the price. The rooms needed a good paint, carpets were dirty and the beds did not have any underlay or topper - just a sheet straight on the mattress. Further, there was mould in the bathroom and cleaners had to return twice in order to remove it properly. In terms of the common area/s, the pool area - chairs and cabanas were also tired. Overall, for a luxe hotel and price point, we had expected much better.

Fantastic Stay

We were upgraded to the Penthouse so our stay was phenomenal. Benefits of being a returning guest Platinum level Accor member I suppose . We like the location of the Johnson. Central Brisbane but still maintains a busy suburban outlook. Restaurants accessible . Easy access to motorways to visit family and friends and the theme parks. The pool is a very good feature at the Johnson. Nice setting and a decent size . Gym is also a reasonable size and fit for purpose . Staff are always really friendly - make us feel welcome and are very helpful. To be frank, I can’t fault the stay.

If your looking for a place to stay in Brisbane that's off the beaten track, and doesn't feel like a predictable franchise chain, Johnson is the hotel for you. Full of original art, modern design, and aesthetically pleasing all round. You can expect brilliant customer service from the staff, who go above and beyond to make sure your needs are taken care of. Infinity pool, and view over Spring Hill makes this a stand out.
