Great Experience and Stay at Brisbane!

Our stay at Mercure Brisbane King George was excellent! The location of the hotel is perfect and very close to the downtown areas, train stations, bus stops and right opposite the shopping streets. It is walkable from the Brisbane bridge, kangaroo point and the ferry stops as well. The hotel accommodated an early check-in for us, which was very helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel staff are very polite and helpful. Definitely recommend staying at this hotel if you are visiting Brisbane.

Sadly no acknowledgement of gold membership, no upgrade of room, and no welcome gift. Couldn't use the complimentary drinks voucher because the roof top bar was closed. And very disappointed that I was not informed that the roof top bar was closed, as that was our main motivation for staying at the mercure. Accor properties are certainly not at the standard as they used to be

No real issues good locale

Placed here for one night work travel I had no real bugbears. Valet greeted us and shuttled the hire car away quickly and professionally. Check in fine though reception were softly spoken and at times hard to hear. I was placed on level 14, and the room was generous with a small lounge area. Yes, dated and a little worn but functional, and i found it quite clean. Bed lovely and shower compact with only a shower head, a pet hate. Body products generic. Coffee horrid instant. Wifi is fine. View well there wasn't one. The gym is compact and was busy, but good equipment, air con could be better as random fan didn't work. There is a damp musky smell throughout but it didn't impact my overall stay. House keeping a delight.

Over charged and state of the Room

We booked room by phone and quoted a price on check out charged a higher rate without notification. The room smelt musty, there was two nuggets in bottom of toilet bowl, cum stains on the bedspread, various cracks in the hand basin, one access card did not work, opening the shower door hits the toilet bowl, toilet paper was so thin one had to use 6 layers to get a decent wipe, at breakfast we had to clear a used table ourselves to hve breakfast

Good hotel

Had a conference at the Pullman and this hotel is on the same complex and a bit better price. Clean room and nice housekeeping. But old and run down but I new that when I booked and did t mind as location and price were more important Comfy bed Clean sheets
