We are locals, booked Soul for a special occasion. Confusing car parking instructions. Fusty smelling corridors and suite furniture, in need of thorough clean and update. Restaurant : music too loud. Not relaxing. Breakfast buffet not worth the cost, hot breakfast left because it both meals were stodgy and unappetising. Certainly would not return to this hotel. Not worth a $500 night stay.

I booked the presidential suite, which included Foxtel and daily housekeeping. Unfortunately, I found the team at Soul to be quite unprofessional. There were several issues that required me to call for service, including the daily room cleaning. While the staff member made the beds, other cleaning tasks were neglected. My sister, who was downstairs, mentioned, "I’ll see what I can do; there's a vacuum in the cupboard if you need it," which I found extremely rude. We expect a certain level of service when paying premium prices. Additionally, our phone calls often went unanswered, and there was a delay during check-in despite having a room ready. We were informed that we could switch to another room early since the suite was unoccupied, but there seemed to be conflicting information from different staff members. If hotel employees are going to represent Soul, they should adhere to established policies. Overall, I was very disappointed with my stay.

Booked through Accor for 3 nights over the Australia Day long weekend in a 2 bed ocean view apartment. On arrival concierge wasn’t to be seen and I had to do a few happy laps around the entrance to find a layover spot so I could check in and get carpark access. Once upstairs at reception, the check-in process was efficient and we were given a room on level 51. We parked on B3 as instructed and went up to our room. Once we were there it was an amazing feeling, the view, the room. It was all perfect. During our stay we didn’t use the in house breakfast or dining as there are plenty of options nearby. This is by far the best place to stay in Surfers Paradise. Prime location with the most amazing views. The staff are all friendly and in particular the girls at the reception are all amazing! Massive change from our previous two stays before COVID. I don’t recall names but I hope management takes note of this. Although the rates are a lot higher now and particularly post COVID, I noticed the service has gotten a lot better and I feel ok paying more for a great experience. A nice touch was a welcome card, with a bottle of red wine and premium chocolates.

Good location and views. Excellent restaurant.

When we initially checked into Peppers there were issues with prices quoted vs prices charged. When the disparity and my complaint were brought to the attention of the Executive Assistant Manager, Reece Gilbert he handled it professionally and in person doing everything possible to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The location of Peppers Soul in the heart of Surfers Paradise provides good views, particularly from where we were on the 40th floor. The two bedroom, two bathroom apartment was clean and spacious with one large balcony, table, chairs and a corner lounger in situ plus one smaller balcony off bedroom two. With the balcony doors open we could hear night noises from the street below. A low floor could potentially be noisy on a weekend. I would pay for the higher floor if you think it could be an issue for you. There is a dishwasher, Nespresso machine, kettle and toaster along with other essential items cutlery, crockery, glasses etc. Tea bags and instant coffee sachets are replenished, coffee pods are not after the initial allocation of six are exhausted. Peppers has coffee pods for sale, $20. Housekeeping - Refresh clean The ladies are friendly. Beds are made, towels changed where necessary. Peppers Soul is not marketed as a daily, fully serviced apartment. Reservations I booked via Accor on the phone. When needing to call back I found the Menu options went around in circles and was then cut off. This reflects upon Accor rather than Peppers Soul. Reception It was very busy on arrival, school holidays and a public holiday, it took a little time. The receptionists were friendly and helpful including when I called for dishwasher powder, a sponge and teabags. Restaurant - Hyde Paradiso I would highly recommend at least one in house meal. We had only one dinner and wished we’d had more, the steak was cooked to perfection, all of the dishes were delicious with excellent presentation. Breakfast Hyde Paradiso Substantial offerings with an excellent combination of a buffet while you wait for your a la carte freshly prepared hot food. Again, great presentation. The eggs Benedict Hash is a highly recommended specialty. Swimming Pool - indoor and outdoor Has a pool bar although it wasn’t open when we were there. Steam room and spa facilities are good and signed as child free after 8pm - not everyone took note of this but again, school holidays. BBQ The BBQ area is located in gardens behind the outdoor pool. It is a nice, well tended garden area and the BBQ’s are very clean. We did use a BBQ one evening, the shopping precinct performers area is adjacent and down a level, it can be a little noisy but also provides a good viewing platform. Gym Quite comprehensive split into two rooms with effective air conditioning. Mats for floor work would be a welcome addition. In summary You are subject to surge pricing for peak periods however, Peppers does appear to try and value add with activities for adults and children. Once you get your head around what Pepper’s Soul offers it is a good option to stay in the heart of Surfers Paradise in a good size apartment.

My family and I stayed here for 7 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment during January. For the money spent this was very overpriced and will never return again. Pros - Location! Across the road from the beach and central to all the shops/restaurants. Cons - The rooms are outdated, furniture/bedding very old. My advice is to bring a pillow. - very dirty, room service only fix bedding, add toilet paper and change towels. They don't change your bed sheets! - minimum 10 minute wait times for the lifts. - Outdoor & indoor pools are very cold, you would expect heated pools. - Outdoor area has very limited seating with only a handful of umbrellas making it difficult to stay there for extended periods. - The retirement village (residents) are extremely rude. - Reception and service is terrible
