I have said “very good” in my review but there were things that did go wrong, that should not have, but in saying that the resort looks lovely, the lagoon pool fantastic and our room suited us and was in a good position. In saying that when we arrived our room was not ready, then the room we were given was not what we had paid for, a lagoon pool view room. We refused the room and were told we could stay in it for the night and move to another room next day….we said no, we wanted a room that was suitable for our entire 9 night stay. I was sent to look at a room which was suitable but unknown to reception had not been serviced. By this time we were worn out and frustrated. Eventually the room was serviced and ready for us to move into and it was a lovely room, close to the pool. We were given a very small food and beverage credit on our account to use but every time we wanted to charge anything back to our room we couldn’t which meant many trips back to reception for them to sort out which they kept saying they did each time but nothing changed. I found the staff at the bar very unfriendly or helpful except Lucas who was terrific. Also the bar has small bar meals which are quite good especially during happy hour 4-5pm but on a Thursday, Fri and sat you cannot access food at the bar during this time as the restuarant is gearing up for opening at 5.30pm. We think this should be remedied as having access to some food during this time is important. I think Peppers should try and live up to what is perceived a good reputation which at the moment is lacking. The Salt area is lovely with some magnificent restaurants in the Village.

Room only serviced once in the week Restaurant too expensive for the meal provided and the wait staff were inattentive and disinterested, plus there was a very long wait between entree and main (1 hour) Shower leaked Invoicing was a problem

Apartment was a little run down with broken items, tv and toaster not working etc. Staff appeared uninterested and in a rush when approached at counter. Tried following up with management re issues (after stay) but no return communication - gave impression that my enquiry and feedback was of no interest to them. Otherwise the resort is nicely situated and facilities are nice, just poor communication and interest from staff and management. Wouldn’t go back in a hurry I’m sorry to say!

This is the second time we have stayed at Peppers Salt Resort. We love the resort and location. Great amenities. This time however our room wasn’t cleaned properly. Floor was dusty, hair left all around the bathroom, in the spa bath, shower and toilet. Cooking utensils needed to be washed before use. Lastly on day of check-out, room service came in with-out knocking while we had the privacy sign on our door. It was before 10am and check-out is 11am. We explained to them we were packing up while our baby was sleeping. They spoke so loudly waking the baby up. Continued talking loudly and left without apologising.

We have been a repeat visitor to Peppers in Kingscliff for over a decade. We discovered the resort as a childless couple and returned with our young child and loved it. We had a spacious apartment and a trundle bed set up for us which was very appreciated. The washer and dryer in the apartment was also very handy and meant I didn’t go home with bags of dirty clothes to wash when I got home, also we could pack much lighter. Only a few suggestions for improvements, you have to collect pool towels from reception which is really annoying when it’s a busy time with other guests checking in. As the pool is accessed by a room key it would be much easier to have a pile of towels in the pool area. Another minor issue is the long time between room cleaning, we don’t have an issue with this and cleaned up after ourselves but it would be much better to have a stick vac or a broom at least in the room as the floors can get gritty especially after visiting the lagoon pool with sand.
