We traveled to Tropical Queensland for 9 night stay, we choose Beach Club Palm Beach as special treat for 3 nights as rated 5 Stars. We had a 1 bedroom apartment overlooking the lagoon pool and was so disappointing. The resort feels very dark and closed in, concrete jungle. Due to such a big resort it meant the pools were very crowded. We booked outside of Peak School Holidays so did not expect this. It was like the whole complex needed a good waterblast and clean up. We choose to leave after 1 night and source other accommodation. They fully refunded the un-used nights so we were very thankful.

Stayed here for 5 nights, the stay was fantastic and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Travelled with a car and there is undercover parking available on site which is a bonus. Pools are fantastic for kids, the lagoon pool in particular is excellent a great novelty having beach sand poolside. The reptile petting zoo on the weekend is a lovely touch to bring that Australia/Queensland vibe.

Loved it. Stayed a few years ago at Peppers Pour Douglas and was looking forward to trying aborder one and it lived up to expectations. Great pools, Friendly staff and a huge comfortable room with a really nice design. Only small issue was the huge number of beliefs in the pool… but I guess that is just the season…

A comfortable stay in a tropical paradise

Palm Cove itself is beautiful and we felt so lucky to have randomly chosen to stay here instead of Port Douglas. The beach is soft sand and swaying palms but you can only swim in the warm sea in the small netted area to avoid the jellyfish, in common with all hols in Queensland. Peppers is dead central on the seafront strip of restaurants and resorts in this upscale quiet little town. Staff were friendly and curiously half of them seemed to come from South Wales! There's free parking beneath your building with around 6 buildings clustered around three pools. It's all naturally ventilated with sea breezes and a colonial white shuttered elegance. We booked a one bedroom ocean view suite which was enormous with a big balcony having excellent sea views. It had a full equipped kitchen, dining table, large sofa and new TV and aircon units and ceiling fans in two rooms. The place reminded us of the old Miami Beach art deco hotels with a kind of shabby chic which is odd as Peppers is only 20 years old. The doors, tiling, furniture and taps were dated with some stains on seats. I'd say if the place had a good deep clean and new upholstery it would be perfect. Having said that this town gets battered by tropical storms each year so perfect may be an impossible aim. For any Europeans visiting I would warn you to check seasons as our winter/ their summer can be flooded and cyclonic and hot rain is no fun for anyone Breakfast was a nice buffet spread only £15/$30 aus each and you cannot beat sipping coffee with a warm sea breeze They have a really odd pool towel policy of two old stained thin towels per room with a warning they'll fine you if you steal them. Why would you?! Similarly the hangers are attached so you have to wrestle clothes off. Drying our towels was a daily irritation instead of dumping them in poolside towel bins like literally everywhere else does! And again a warning for us pale Europeans there's only a handful of poolside umbrellas but ultra high UV warnings so bagging a suitable lounger is hard , not least as they're cheap plastic that gets boiling hot in the sun and your short crummy towel won't cover it . In short this place has potential so hopefully a few upgrades by Accor will fix it. As for tropical north Queensland it's a glorious paradise we'd highly recommend if you're careful to avoid the sun and myriad creatures that can kill you !

We organised a 60th birthday for my wife with approx 20 staying at the hotel + another 10 for the function in Le Mesa. The staff were great in both the hotel and the restaurant. Our function was a great success because of the food, staff and their care
