Hotel is in a a great location in CBD with a short walk to China Town and Melbourne Central. Rooms are comfy with all needed amenities but its not glamorous. Bed was comfy, shower good and quiet. Staff were polite and helpful. Room was cleaned well. Breakfast was decent too, lots to choose from.

Melbourne on Russell is well located between Chinatown and the Greek area of Melbourne. It's walking distance from just about everything of interest to tourists in the CBD -- Queen Vic Market, the Melbourne Museum, Federation Square, and everything in between. I would consider it again if I return to Melbourne

아침 일찍 투어를 나가야했는데 미리 요청한 밀박스를 체크인할 때 주시는 세심함이 돋보였습니다. 모든 직원들은 매우 친절했고 제 요청을 다 수용해주기 위해 애 써주었습니다. 체크 아웃 후 시드니행 야간 열차를 타기 전 수영장의 샤워시설을 사용하도록 배려해 준 점도 매우 감사했습니다.

I recently stayed at the Mantra on Russell for five nights, with my accommodation and breakfast pre-paid through Luxury Escapes, a fact confirmed at check-in. Upon arrival, I was asked to provide a $100 deposit, which I authorized by tapping the EFTPOS machine and entering my PIN. During my stay, we didn't charge anything to the room and left it in good condition, just needing to be made up for next guests. At checkout, I was assured that the $100 deposit would be refunded within a few days. However, I woke up today to find my scheduled debits declined and discovered that the hotel had deducted $1,500 from my account without any explanation. I contacted the hotel and spoke with Harry, who confirmed that there was no justification for this deduction and promised to reverse the charge. As of now, I'm still waiting for my money to be refunded. This experience has left an extremely negative impression of the Mantra on Russell and has overshadowed my stay. It's alarming that a hotel can take such a significant amount of money without authorisation, especially when the only transaction made was the initial $100 deposit. If I hadn't checked my account, I might never have noticed this issue. I urge future guests to monitor their accounts closely and be cautious with this hotel. I will update this review once I receive my refund.

Beautiful clean, quiet hotel and responsive staff. My one issue is the bathroom. Shower over bath is difficult for older guests and would also prefer a hand held shower. Watch the temperature of the water too. Very hot!
