Ideal location in a quiet precinct in the CBD, and the essentials for accommodation are provided without having to pay for bells and whistles. Rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable and the full kitchen was ideal for self-catering or ordering in. A Chinese restaurant operates in the building, which can be accessed from the foyer. Highly recommended for this type of accommodation.

From the moment I entered the room, the smell of damp and mold was overwhelming. It was so strong that it made the room uncomfortable to sleep in, and it left me genuinely concerned about whether it was safe to breathe in for an extended stay. Whatever is causing the odor seems to indicate a significant moisture problem that really needs attention. The room itself was very average. The furniture was chipped, worn, and noticeably damaged. The pillows were flat, flimsy, and felt like something that had been sitting in an old linen cupboard for years. For the price I paid, I expected basic comfort at the very least. I also wasn’t allowed to reserve parking, which was inconvenient, and surprisingly, the air conditioning remote was shared between rooms, something I’ve never encountered in a hotel before. Overall, this was a really unpleasant stay, and I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I don’t normally complain, but the standard here fell well below what I paid for, and I hope management takes these issues seriously. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Hotel cancelled on us last minute

Disgraceful hotel. We were due to stay there for 3 days at the end of our WA holiday before flying back home. The hotel cancelled on us less than 24 hours before we were due to stay. There are no other hotels at all available in the area as the Ashes are on this weekend (funny that, Mantra is almost next to the cricket ground, hmm wonder if they've taken a preferential booking over ours?) We now face the prospect of 3 nights sleeping in the hire car, no showers, no aircon and no cooking facilities. My wife is ill through stress now. Mantra's only comment when I called them...... oh don't worry, we won't charge you a cancellation fee. Disgraceful, disgusting

We recently stayed in a studio apartment, which had a kitchenette and a large king size bed, which was very comfy. There was plenty of room to sprawl out. The bathroom was very small but was fitted great smelling products in the shower and basin. When we first arrived we could smell stale cigarettes after leaving the lift. You could sometimes smell it in our room too, although the hotel is a No Smoking hotel. Our room looked tired and dated, despite being clean and neat in appearance. There is a great Chinese restaurant downstairs called “china Panda”, which was very yummy and a definite value add to staying at this hotel. Plenty of cafes right nearby to find and enjoy. Friday and Saturday nights you get ‘duff duff’ music playing late at night which was annoying when trying to sleep. Our room was on the Northside of the complex.

Disappointing Experience Despite Great Location and Spacious Room

We are currently staying in Room 521. We booked this hotel because we trusted the Accor brand, but looking back, we should have trusted the other TripAdvisor reviewers instead. To be fair, the room is spacious, and the location is very convenient, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and transportation. There are also some staff who genuinely try to help, especially the lady during the afternoon shift, and I truly appreciate her kindness and effort. However, despite these positives, our overall experience has been a serious disappointment. Before our arrival, we raised concerns via email about cleanliness and hygiene standards, as we had read mixed reviews online. A staff member named Dani personally responded and promised that everything would be up to Accor standards. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. Cleanliness: It’s clear that the housekeeping team tried to clean, but the utensils provided in the room were not properly washed and had to be recleaned by ourselves before use. Toilets: The toilet leaks occasionally, and we have video evidence available upon request. This is simply unacceptable for a property under the Accor Group. Hot Water: The hot water in the bathroom is unstable, switching on and off unpredictably. When reported, a staff member named Ben told us that we were just “unlucky.” Hot water should never depend on luck — even homeless shelters in Australia provide consistent access to hot baths. It’s absurd that paying guests must “try their luck” for a shower. Service: Ben’s attitude was dismissive and unaccommodating. When I attempted to raise these issues politely, he replied that if I wished to report him to management, I could go ahead. That kind of response is unprofessional and disappointing. Housekeeping: We requested new towels as the old ones never dried properly (possibly due to poor ventilation). The first time, the old towels weren’t taken away; the second time, we received dirty replacements. When we asked about trash disposal, we were told to inform reception. We did — repeatedly — but nothing happened. Eventually, we had to empty the trash ourselves and request new liners. For a property under the Accor brand, these issues, from cleanliness and maintenance to service quality and attitude - FALL far BELOW expectations. This hotel has great potential thanks to its space and location, but until management takes immediate action to restore proper Accor standards, I cannot recommend staying here.
