A disappointing Experience

The first room we were offered was on the ground floor, with a view of the rubbish bins and the road, I asked for a better room. The next room was on the 7th floor I think, the room was a lot brighter, but very tired furniture that was chippd and broken, down the side of the fridge was filthy and there was no attention to detail anywhere. The lounge was dirty and we really did'nt enjoy our time in the Mantra. This hotel hasnt recovered well from Covid and needs some time and money spent to bring it up to a reasonable standard again, the standard that we know and expect form this group. A very disappointing experience overall. There were at least one lift out of action and on some days two of the three lift were not working.

Shocked that it's worse than Airbnb. Not like a hotel no housekeeping for days and dryer broke down. Place is old and musty. Mould on the curtains. Beds are connected into king v uncomfortable, sheets are not tucked in , by next day sheets/ doona all exposed. How can this be part of Accor?

Nice large two bed apartment. A couple of issues, namely a strange odour in the apartment like carpet needed cleaning. Found it strange that there were no ceiling lights in the bedrooms only bedside lights. Shower was a bit hit and miss with the Hot water coming in and out. Elevator broke down but was fixed almost same day. Staff were very nice and helpful.

The Mantra on Hay is situated in a fabulous position with the red cat bus just down the road to take us to Perth stadium. We had requested an early check in than 3pm which is late for a check in, when you consider that we have to check out by 10am! Room was clean but tired looking. Couches and bathroom tiles need a good scrub. Microwave was broken. We had required parking at the property and were extremely disappointed this was not available as we were travelling with a toddler.

The staff are so so accommodating Adi was so helpful and allowed me to extend my late check out without question, room was very large for the price! Towels are some of the softest I’ve felt in a hotel…comp bottle of wine on arrival, always a nice unexpected suprise
