Far from a 4 star Hotel Service

I recently stayed at the Novotel Perth, on the 4th floor, which felt more like the dungeons than a four‑star hotel. The stay was disappointing for several reasons, The peephole was broken, and I had to improvise by covering it with a piece of paper. The bin looked like it had been in a “car accident,” dented and far from presentable. I was told there would be a coffee machine and other amenities, but none of these were provided. Noise issues, every time someone closed a door nearby, the entire structure shook, making the bed vibrate. It was impossible to relax with that constant disturbance. When I politely asked to borrow a pen, I was told they didn’t have one. For a hotel of this standard, that felt unnecessarily unhelpful. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to the expectations of a four‑star Hotel. The basics of comfort, quiet, and service were missing, and I left feeling that the “wow factor” was nowhere to be found.

Greatly appreciated the early check in as Accor Platinum status was recognised. No room upgrade but it didn't matter - this was one of those Novotels where the bed felt like a Sofitel! Easy 7minute walk to the centre of the shops, shorter if you have longer legs. 2 Chemist Warehouses within 5 minutes. Walk from Perth train station took a bit longer with large suitcase - about 20mins. Room is soundproofed however it couldn't entirely block the weekend 3am noise from the club across the street. Sound level was muted but light sleepers will be awakened. Buffet is standard Novotel fare, but glad they recognised Accor membership free breakfast in Asia Pacific.

宿は市街地にあり、買い物や駅にも徒歩圏内にあるから利便性が良かった。 プールもあり快適に過ごせた。 また、受付の方皆さん親切で助かりました。 悪い点を挙げるなら、洗面台が詰まっていて流れなかったこと。改善するよう伝えたが後からエンジニアを向かわせるだけで、改善しなかった。

A good city center business hotel, only about 5 minutes from the train station and pedestrian zone, with shops, restaurants, and bars literally next door. The room was modern and functional, and the view from the upper floors was good. The staff was consistently friendly. Breakfast was quite good, but very crowded, almost regardless of the time. It was least crowded right after opening at 6:30 a.m. I would gladly stay again.

Very Disappointed - having stayed here several times previously this stay was well below par.

As All Accor members we booked four nights hoping to pay for two and using our two complimentary nights (new rules) but were unable to use our free nights due to the transition from the old to new arrangements with member benefits. My wife was in Perth prior to surgery with me remaining in the hotel but we had to check out after one day as she got an eye infection which could have jeopardised her procedure. The air con in the room blowing seemed to exacerbate the issue so we switched it off and the room was very stuffy making sleep difficult. Upon checking out the next day we were denied a refund or even a partial refund and instead offered a credit to stay at the hotel. We had paid out over $1000. The hotel was apparently 100% occupied so it’s hard to see how they could not simply rebook the three nights we had vacated. My wife had left underwear needed for hospital in the wardrobe of the room. She called the hotel on three occasions to see if her items had been handed in being told each time that she would receive a call back but never got one. We had to go and purchase new items. We did not receive a statement of account at check out and still don’t know what we were charged for in terms of bond. One of the reservations staff, Maya, was super helpful trying to be of assistance but was obviously bound by rules and procedures in what she could do. We have been Accor members for many years and have stayed at this hotel dozens of times. We would have hoped that this would count for something but apparently not. We won’t be going back there any time soon.
