From the time of check-in to check-out, could not have been more satisfied. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the centre of the city and within walking distance of all requirements. The actual room was clean (which is essential for my family and I) and well equipped. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment which was basically a home away from home. I’ve already referred it to friends and family, and will definitely be staying again myself.

Family holiday with 2 interconnecting rooms and a fold out sofa. Location was great, staff were friendly, but facilities and service was minimal Rooms were not serviced once during our 6 night stay, yet we saw other rooms being serviced ........ we had less towels than people, pool was very cold, and gym had very dated equipment some of which was 'out of order'. Wifi was problematic, generally couldn't connect. Probably expected a bit more with the price point of the hotel. Chose the location as it was opposite the Esplanade Lagoon..... only to find when we got there that the Lagoon was closed for construction/maintenance for several weeks. This could have been noted in the hotel description at time of booking.

Close to the Esplanade, the marina and pier, shops and restaurants. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable. Shower was hot, although over the bath, which is hard for people with limited mobility. The pool was constantly in shade and water was freezing, including the spa. This was a big disappointment, as we were in Cairns to get away from the Winter cold. More could be done for recycling by having a container in each room, rather than a rubbish chute, where everything was thrown ( including glass bottles by some very inconsiderate people at 4 am) Avoid room 20 as it’s right next to the chute. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Not for a couples short stay

We must have drawn a short straw on our room allocation for this hotel. The balcony and window faced north and overlooked a very busy and noisy street. The room was hot unless the AC was on full and there was no privacy from the rooftop bar and restaurant across the street. There was no lightweight see-through backing curtain which had been removed and so the patrons across the room looked straight in unless we shut ourselves in the dark by drawing the heavy curtains and cranking the AC. When we asked for the backing curtains we were informed that there were non spare. Sorry! Perhaps this is a good hotel for a conference goer who won’t spend much time at the hotel but it’s not a good couples choice.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Good basic room with everything you need, including pool towels. Great toiletries in the bathroom. Safe is extra cost. Great on checkout too to be offered use of gym showers later in the day as we had a late flight. Biggest regret about booking here was there was no housekeeping at all unless you stayed for over a week. I've never come across this at any hotel I've stayed in. I expect, staying in a hotel for there to be housekeeping every day. There is also no breakfast here. Not even coffee in the lobby like you get in many US hotels with basic facilities. I'd likely have booked somewhere else in the knowledge of these 2 facts - they aren't mentioned on the hotel website clearly. I book hotels rather than apartments to have the facility to have breakfast, return to room and get ready to go out for the day. There are many cafes nearby, but I'd have liked to have known the hotel itself didn't serve any sort of breakfast. If this place had housekeeping and some sort of breakfast offering then I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
