Accor plus failure, great onsite service

The front desk staff and management were exellent solving a problem that was created by the Accor plus system, i have been an Accor plus member for many years and i am also a Vacation Club member. The Accor plus reservation needs to be put back into the hands of the individual Hotels, i have been increasingly frustrated in the past 6 months with the failure of this system and have considered cancelling my membership. The only reason i have maintained it is because of the great service the frontline staff give, credit to the staff, thumbs down to the current Accor plus booking system, it needs to be looked at, i am hearing poor responses from others as well.

Nice refurbished rooms, lacking customer service

We checked in late after 3pm and our room was not ready in time despite being a platinum member, additionally we didn’t get an upgrade as hotel was full so ended up on a low floor with mediocre views so was disappointing. Despite the 2nd night having rooms available for an upgrade, the fact that no one cared to look into upgrading us to a better room as you would expect when you spend 60 plus nights a year with Accor as a loyal member. Better training on how to treat loyal members with a better experience would be great. Unfortunately Spa was closed for renovations and no emails were sent advising in advance so that was disappointing as we had hoped to enjoy a spa experience. Overall on a positive food was great and friendly staff in the restaurant and bars!

we had a refurbishment room and it was lovely clean and fresh bathrooms were spacious and well pointed breakfast was ok had better bar staff we found rather forward and $6 for a bucket of ice to be sent to the room was a joke front of house staff great

Not what I expected from Accor

It's just not what I'm used to with this company. "Sorry we don't assist with luggage in the driveway, it's too hot" That's how my stay started. I get that it was too hot, I had been in the heat all day and was looking forward to a restful stay in the Pullman. We were booked for 7 days. The first morning we went to the dining room for our breakfast. It was inedible. We ate outside the hotel for the rest of our 7 day stay. It took housekeeping 3 days to clean the toilet, vacuum the floor and replace the glasses in the room. I asked the front desk to bring fresh glasses to the room. Despite them advising they would be up in a few minutes, they never came. I appreciate staffing has been a problem over time, but this standard of service is simply not acceptable based on the cost to stay at this hotel

Bed was so bad, it was like street motel standard. When you book at Pullman and pay big $$ bed has to be decent, carpet was so old. I booked this hotel thinking 5 start hotel, for me it was no way near. Sleeping 8 nights in this hotel and beds provided was a nightmare.

Family Holiday with my wife and myself on our 46th wedding anniversary and also to see our family in Cairns, we booked the upgrade Executive room on the 16th floor , the room was fantastic , terrific views over Cairns , but as the room needed upgrading as some of the carpet was well worn but bathroom was great we under stand that all the rooms are to be upgraded in the hotel. also no bathrobes and no writing paper in the room as in other 4 - 5 star hotels we have stayed at with Accor . but the room was always clean and service great. also the swimming pool which great needs some repairs in places but always clean and tidy. Great reception area and dinning area and all the staff where always helpful and friendly . Thank you and we will be back soon to stay again at the Pullman.

Pullman International has done a great job improving their facilities through the COVID period. Updated rooms are excellent. Reception and courteousness is very pleasant and warm. Excellent location in downtown Cairns.

Very disappointing 8 day stay.

This would have to have been my worst stay in an accor hotel. Request on room not completed, upon booking no mention of reno, and what was not going to be open ie hotel facilities, and noise bringing it to the reception the response was really disappointing. Reno noise at 7.25am Initial room toilet was blocked, reception told and nothing was done for 24hrs, I had to tell them what I think needed to be done.... due to health room change necessary. Asked about laundry, was told to go across the road due to reno (thats ok), however, that information was incorrect and I felt like a fool when asking. Restaurant not open only for breakfast, which I have to say is poor same menu as last August with less accor deals. Glass in my drinks x2, told bar attendant who had no idea

We’ve stayed here every year for a while now. Currently under renovation and eerily quiet due to decreased numbers. Beautiful as always. Excited to see the buffets in full swing and bustling with tourists. Recommend, I’m told all will be happening during holidays…excellent staff and high teas a must

This hotel has single handily ruined the Pullman Hotels good name. We were alerted to the fact that it was having renovations, but was not aware of reduction and cessation of many of its services, on lunch or dinner. Basic nibble food was available after 4 pm in the bar, not informed when we checked in. Breakfast was a hit and miss affair depending on the staff of the day, though the food was generaly good. Some days service was so slow we witnessed one guest after being served, pick up his plate and leave the room, while many of the small number of guests complained about the wait. Musac, unplesently loud and repetitve.Dinner was available one night, Saturday, but was spoiled by untrained staff with llimited knowledge of service. My plate was snatched away (attempted) before I had finished. Two days of continual jackhammering. Several return guests said they would never come back. Shout out to Precilla on reception who was most helpful.

Overpriced and uncomfortable

I thought I’d make our night away without the kids special by upgrading to an ocean view room instead of the regular city view room we tend to get when we stay away. Whilst our room was clean and tidy we did not sleep a wink with the extremely uncomfortable bed. Had I known how uncomfortable the bed was I would have just driven home that night to my own bed. $270 for a room we could not sleep in! We ordered room service. $6.00 to bring a dish to the room! Come on $6.00 is appalling considering it was cooked on site. We won’t be back again.

This motel was very clean, and tidy. It's very central to everywhere you want to go. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. We'll be staying at this motel again, and we enjoyed our time there.

Not fully 5 star services provided during my stay due to Covid. However, overall it satisfied with my stay at the hotel. I hope 5 star service will coming back once pandemic is eased. Also, some uplift of the hotel facility need to be carried out as they look aging.

Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the esplanade, casino & restaurants We were on the 10th floor with a beautiful view towards the city & mountain ranges Beds are comfortable even if they are only a double!! Bathroom was excellent with awesome water pressure & plenty of hot water Breakfast was included but we chose to eat elsewhere after the 1st morning. Breakfast was tasteless, cold, very unorganised as the staff had to serve due to covid rules. If we wanted an omelette we had to pay $5 extra & also had to pay extra for more tyhan 1 cup of coffee/tea each!!!

This hotel is my favourite of the Accor group in Queensland . The hotel location and facilities are great. The hotel bar is the best spots to sit in Cairns and have a drink. The restaurant has amazing food - it was so good I went back night after night. The staff are very friendly and do an amazing job. Could not recommend this place enough!

The Pullman Cairns is a great place to stay. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the rooms are always spotless. The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of Cairns right opposite the Casino and the Cairns Esplanade.

Perfect 3 night stay

Spent 3 nights at Pullman Cairns International, got a room on the 10th floor with harbour view. Arrived at about 11am on Friday 12th March, reception let me store my bag, came back at about 1:30, could check in. At first the TV remote wasn't working, but it was promptly fixed. Had the buffet breakfast on Sunday 14th March, it is currently a serviced buffet because of Covid, food was just as you'd expect from a breakfast buffet. It did just take a little longer but that is due to the other customers being picky. And with the buffet breakfast, you got one espresso coffee included in the cost (which is nice, usually only the instant coffee is included)

Grand foyer; well sized rooms; well located but in need of a little maintenance in areas. All staff, as always, were professional & friendly. Covid restrictions have impacted the breakfast experience. Overall, a pleasant experience in a grand hotel & will return.

I came here for lunch on a Saturday in October 2020 which was amazing and a great value then I decided to have a spontaneous inspection with the rooms and hotel facilities. I was assisted by a lovely young man who was very kind and I told myself that I'd definitely stay here upon my next return to Cairns. Fast forward to February 2021, I finally returned to Cairns and stayed here and loved it despite the gloomy and wet weather. Thank you for the lovely room upgrade, welcome amenities and a late check out. I once again had the opportunity to have the set lunch menu with my mate and what a bargain with the Accor Plus discount. Breakfast was yummy, streets parking was easy. No troubles at all. Thanks again for looking after my stay.
