On arrival we were given our access key card and progressed to our hotel room. We then looked at our “ocean view” to find we were looking directly at shops. This was not wot the advertised room was nor wot we paid for. Obviously we went back to reception and after some “to and fro” and being told there’s nothing they could do due to the heavy reservations because of school holidays. We did not accept this and were clearly annoyed at the misleading way the room was sold as appropriate. Standing on the balcony and looking to the left was not our expectation. Never again.

This hotel doesn't understand what a cancellation is.

Cancelled our stay 3 weeks before checkin due to a injury which caused the person not to be able to walk without the use of crutches but a 100% cancellation fee was still imposed. We were contacted by hotel staff on the day our stay was due to commence to confirm cancellation. Then we were sent a review to ask how great our stay was.

Disappointed in stay

I don’t recommend you stay at this property for the following reasons: 1. Poor wifi connection 2. Room was dusty/ floor not cleaned 3. You have to put your own rubbish away - nobody comes to clear it 4. Room smelt mouldy. 5. No fan in bathroom. 6. You need to go to reception if you want any bin liners/ additional tea etc. Sometimes after going to repetition, they direct you to go back to your room and call housekeeping. 7. Rooms not sound proof (we were in tower2) 8. To walk between the towers, you need to access a car park which has a foul smell due to the rubbish. 9. Advertised to have breakfast available and there was none.

NEVER AGAIN!!!

The online advertising attracted us to the hotel, initially, only to be 100% disappointed, at the point of checking-in for the 6 days, which I had already paid for, prior to my arrival! I felt that the advertising was untrue; ie: there are NOT 4 x restaurants in the complex, as stated. There are however, 4 independently owned restaurants on the same block as the hotel, non of which have anything to do with the hotel, or operate under the Mantra banner. Therefore, we could not get any room service, or even have a breakfast in the hotel. I use the term Hotel, loosely, as the oxford definition for a hotel, is “an establishment providing accommodation, meals, and other services for travellers and tourists”. We were there for 6 days, and was told on arrival, NOT prior to arrival, that it is Mantra policy that our room would not be cleaned or attended to, during our stay. The policy is that it would only be cleaned on day 4, if we stayed 8 days! So, in the 6 days of our stay, our towels weren’t changed, the room wasn’t vacuumed, the toilet wasn’t cleaned, our tea and coffee wasn’t replenished, the room wasn’t dusted or cleaned in any way, and the rubbish bins remained full! Had that “non-attentive” policy been made clear to me, in the advertising, and before paying $285 per night, we would not have entertained any thought of staying in such a customer un-focussed, unhygienic, non-caring hotel. We will never stay at any Mantra ever again. That policy is disgraceful, not just for the price paid, but for the fact that it shows how little they care for its’ customers. We payed way over a fair price for the room, and received nothing except the pass key, to an over priced door, behind which was an unkept room, that the hotel did not attend to, and did not care a jot about. For a hotel that should have been dedicated to the comfort of its clients, it was Disgraceful!

Accessibility request ignored

Made 4 contacts with Accor and directly with hotel stating that I would be travelling with a wheelchair and needed accessible room. On arrival there was no disabled parking as the single disabled space was taken by someone without a disabled permit and rest of carpark was full. Had to park in street and wheel to hotel. Then room was not remotely accessible. Not possible for me to even get in and out of the room myself in the wheelchair. It also had small bathroom with standard small shower cubicle and a step down to the balcony. Reception showed me a picture of the room that I was supposed to have been given, it bared no resemblance to the actual room. Reception was not able to offer a suitable room so we had to book another hotel at no notice and pay twice the price. Whilst we have received a refund I would not recommend that other people with any accessibility issues do not book the Mantra Trilogy.
