We arrived at the Sydney Mantra for 4 nights in mid-July, and even as we checked in, I feared the worst when I saw the state in the reception area. Just one look at the light fittings caked in dirt and dust have the impression that the hotel was sadly lacking in care and maintenance. When we got to our room, things got worse, but the failings included: - Broken work surfaces that hadn't been replaced. - Towel rail fittings literally hanging off the wall - Ceiling fittings hanging down or held up with screwed up toilet paper - Mould growing on the walls - Huge build-up of dust in air con units - Badly peeling laminated surfaces - Multiple marks and scuffs on walls and ceilings - FILTHY balcony area littered with cigarette butt's and caked on grime - Peeling paintwork throughout - My personal favourite though would go to the imbecile who just smeared halfway up the glass on the patio doors and didn't bother with the top half. That kind of summed up the complete lack of effort!! - There's probably more issues that I could list, but if the above don't help you make your mind up, I don't know what will. When I confronted the reception team with the issues, they had no idea that things were so bad, which shows that they're hardly paying attention either!! In fairness, I was ultimately offered a range of different rooms, each marginally better than the one before, but overall a hugely disappointing stay. The most frustrating thing is that this SHOULD be a nice place to stay. However, there appears to be a lack of any sort of attention to detail or accountability by the staff, coupled with an apparent unwillingness to spend a little money to fix known defects. As a result, it's one of the most disappointing places I've ever had the misfortune to stay, and trust me, I've had some shockers! Steven

What an awesome place to stay in Sydney. The location is fantastic, easy walking to explore or shop or catch the light rail. It’s also a very short easy walk to Central station. The apartment was clean & spacious with beautiful views of the city skyline from the spacious balcony. What I didn’t like was the 10am checkout!! We travel overseas often & 12noon checkout is standard. Also to access free wifi you had to be an Accor member or be willing to join up.

Not recommended if you want a clean and modern room experience.

Staff lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Hotel reception smells of Chinese food all of the time due to the restaurant. The room we had was a studio queen queen. The room was tired, the bathroom was well past it's sell by date. The sink trap was leaking onto the hairdryer stored below. The general cleanliness of the room was not great either. Luckily we spent little time in the room only to sleep and wash. Location was OK,

I would like to express my disappointment when staying at the Mantra Sydney Central Hotel. I have been a member for quite a long time & believe that Accor Plus is a program that provides great service & service and prioritizes good relations with its customers.. I stayed today, August 13th and entered room 509 at 13:00, after we took a shower and slept for a while at 14:00 when we woke up at 18:00, we found the condition of the room carpet all wet. We immediately contacted the receptionist and after a long time an assistant manager named Jessie Yong came and apologized and replaced our room to room 111. After how long Jessie Yong came to us with a $ 500 bill and withheld a $ 100 deposit and asked us to pay .. with the accusation that we forgot to turn off the water tap .. Obviously we didn't want to, and we were given unclear accusations with the accusation that we didn't turn off the bathroom tap, clearly we provided evidence that the front of the bathroom was dry .. how could we not turn off the bathroom tap which made such a loud noise while sleeping .. that was very cornering and blaming .. Even the police were called and we were asked to leave the hotel right away without any compensation and payment, even the $ 100 deposit was taken .. (I have all the video recordings and evidence) We were evicted, fined, even our hotel deposit and payment were not returned to we.. In the middle of the night we were asked to leave the hotel..

strategic place, spacious place for family of 3 and fully equipped and functional kitch!!! very clean and not to mentioned they’ve very comfortable bed and sofa. We have a beautiful and lively few from the balcony which as great!!! def will recommend to our friends for next visit to syd
