Room OK, reception a bit weird

Room itself was ok, good space. Even though my room was a bit of strange shape, but still enough space for luggage and a working desk. Breakfast was order from a menu, I was also cool with that. Stayed 4 nights tried different dishes. One thing I was not happy with was the checkin time. I waited till exactly 2pm to get the room. I’m a gold member of Accor, in other hotels, I could benefit at least 2hrs for late checkout, (if I don’t request for early checkin, and here I obviously didn’t benefit from early checkin). But the reception kinda tricked on me in terms of this. On the day of arrival, I already told her my next hotel check in time was 3pm, if possible I would like to have a late checkout around 2pm (this hotel’s standard check out time is 11am!) She told me what she could do is to give me one more hour (check out at 12pm), and suggest me to dial 9 to call the reception another time, the manager could do more for me. I phoned the reception one day before checkout (I thought all things should be clear by then), asking about the late checkout and told her it’s part of my gold member benefit. Her response was ‘12pm checkout is complimentary and asking me to check on the day of checkout’. I would appreciate a clear No, to be honest, so that I don’t need to try again while nothing is guaranteed. Also, from her words, I could phone again on the day of checkout for a late checkout with a price?

We stayed one night as part of our Accor Membership. Very helpful person on reception at checkin. Very large room with a large TV & a comfortable bed. Loved the separate rooms for shower & toilet. You could hear street noise but it didn't stop us having a great sleep. We enjoyed our welcome drink in the bar but didn't eat at the hotel. A couple of issues, coffee machine didn't work well & a vacuum cleaner was lifted out in the hallway by our room.

Beautiful hotel, great service in the restaurant

It was only opened in 2022, so the facilities are still very new, the appearance of the hotel building is also very special. The lobby furnishings are also nice, but the disadvantage is that it is a bit small. CI&CO has to queue for a long time during peak hours. Accor gold member were upgraded to high-floor rooms. Although the room is not big, you can see the care of the decoration everywhere. The leather material design of the wardrobe is also great. What I enjoyed most was the "electric curtains"🤣! There’s nothing I can do. This is the first time I’ve stayed in a hotel with electric curtains. Not even the 5-star Sofitel Darling Harbour hotel has this 😆. We had indicated before checking in that we were celebrating my sister's 50th birthday, she was pleasantly surprised to receive the gifts (red wine + chocolates) prepared by the hotel. The cover of the card was the exterior of the Porter House building 👍. We also used the outdoor heated swimming pool. Although it was not big, we would still be out of breath after swimming a few times 😅. Previously, I saw someone in the group recommending this restaurant for great food, so I did a lot of homework (what everyone recommended to order) and took notes on what I wanted to eat. But when I looked at the menu, there was no dish mentioned. The waiter said that it was because our chef likes to change the menu every 3-6 months. Fortunately, the food we ordered was exquisite and delicious. Breakfast was not a buffet but a la carte, and it was delicious. I also had lunch there. In conclusion, I didn’t step on any landmines. I highly recommend everyone to eat there. When I checked out, there was a small problem. I took the door card to the CO, and the lady at the counter said that the bill had been automatically deducted from my credit card. I was surprised and said that when I checked in, I was told to use the Accor gift card to pay, and I didn’t even check the bill, so how could she automatically deduct the money from my credit card? The lady apologized to me and said that all the previous deductions would be refunded to me. Later, after I re-checked the bill and paid with the gift card, I rushed to the airport. While waiting for the flight, I checked my credit card and found that I had been charged an extra amount. After I wrote a letter to the hotel to report it, I successfully got it back. The conclusion is that the bill really needs to be checked clearly. If you use the Accor gift card to pay, it is best to remind the hotel again when you check in.

I stayed at the hotel for six nights on a work trip. Although it claims to be a five-star hotel, it doesn’t measure up when compared to other hotels in that category. The location in the central business district is convenient, with shopping and the metro nearby, but it is quite noisy. When I checked in, I specifically asked the front desk if my room would be noisy, and I was assured it would not be. However, I was placed on the second floor, where I could hear everything from the street, as well as my neighbors opening their curtains each morning. If I were running the front desk, I would have attempted to move guests from lower floors to avoid the noise. The biggest issues I encountered were with housekeeping and the front desk staff. My room was never properly cleaned, and when I inquired at the front desk, they simply informed me that they outsource their cleaning services. I had to complain three times. The floors were dirty, they did not pick up any used glasses or replace them with clean ones, and they failed to replace towels or clean the sinks. The rooms are small, and while the beds are comfortable, the sheets felt cold and uncomfortable. Additionally, there were no extra blankets in the room, making the overall experience feel similar to that of an upscale Holiday Inn. The on-site restaurants are quite nice, but the front desk staff did not provide any information about them or other hotel amenities, which made it feel like a guessing game. I would not choose to stay here again.

Beautiful Hotel, but Noisy and Lacking Finishing Touches

This hotel, which opened at the end of 2022, boasts a beautiful design with a well-thought-out colour scheme and functional layout. However, our experience was disappointing due to noise issues and some missing details that affected our stay. We arrived last night after a 13.5-hour flight. When booking in November, I specifically requested a quiet room, but this request was completely ignored. We were given Room 209, and despite wearing earplugs, we could hardly sleep due to the excessive noise. The receptionist was difficult to understand and didn’t come across as particularly welcoming. This may have been partly due to the loud music near the reception area, which made communication even harder. The room itself was beautifully laid out but lacked some essentials: - There was no bottled water available because they were out of stock—something we've never encountered in all our travels. Water should always be a basic provision. They eventually retrieved some from the bar but mentioned the cost would be charged back to the hotel, which highlighted a disconnect between the hotel and its F&B department. - No tea cups were provided, only saucers. - The bathroom had noticeable hair from the previous guest on both the toilet floor and shower wall, which was disappointing. The biggest issue, however, was the noise from outside. Cars were accelerating loudly throughout the night, making it feel like we were in Istanbul. Having stayed in many major cities, we believe better soundproofing could have mitigated this problem. Overall, while the hotel has great potential, the lack of attention to detail and excessive noise made our stay less enjoyable than expected.
