Great for a solo trip

I definitely liked this hotel. Location: It was really well located with easy access from the airport by train followed by a 10min walk. Also easy access on foot to the main shopping area (Pitt Street) and Barangaroo as well as a short train ride to Circular Quay. There was lots of food options close by too. Rooms: clean, bright and cheerful. I think there are various versions - mine was a long room with a queen bed at the end of the room. There was a small sofa which faced the TV. The room was quiet and I was able to sleep very well. The nespresso machine was wonderful for early morning coffees. Bathroom was absolutely fine! Service: I was so glad to have been able to check in early. The staff were generally nice. Note that the lobby is tiny but adequate. Overall, I thought this place was great and I'd stay again. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the layout meant I could not watch TV in bed (something which I enjoy when I travel solo).

We would stay here again! PROS: Lovely staff (a fabulously warm welcome by Maxim). Modern rooms, super clean: our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, but Maxim kindly offered us a different type of room — on a lower floor but apparently on the quieter side of the building — and even let us check it out first … after 36 hours of travel to get there, we took it, very grateful for the chance to check in 5 hours early! Room was small (but that was expected) and perfectly made up — super neat (and if only the bathroom had more hooks and shelves, it would be perfect!). Housekeepers were quick to help us get extra towels, so sweet! I came back from an outside run on the second morning, and Maxim was waiting at the front desk with a bottle of water for me — amazing! Fantastic shower (super hot and excellent pressure) and suuuuuper comfy bed! Small but brand new and well stocked gym (though it could definitely do with some antibacterial wipes…). Location location location! — literally everything is right nearby. CONS: No natural light, which we missed. We could hear everything from the room next door — including other guests peeing! Bathroom light is a ridiculous distance from the actual bathroom — poor engineering.

Top Lage um viele Dinge zu Fuß zu erkunden. Trotz ausführlicher Suche in allen Schränken und Schubladen haben wir keinen Safe entdeckt, aber wir haben auch keinen benötigt.

Me alojé en este hotel, en la habitación 504, durante 7 noches. El hotel me recordó a algún hotel de los que he estado en Nueva York, pero con la habitación bastante más grande. La habitación aunque es grande, está mal aprovechada. Tiene una forma alargada rectangular, y es algo estrecha. Debido a esto, la cama no es muy grande. Tampoco dispone de armario, solo tiene un par de perchas en la pared, al lado de la TV. Nosotros utilizamos un sofá grande para dejar la ropa y las maletas, pero no es lo ideal, sobre todo si vas a estar unas cuantas noches alojado. La televisión está pegada a la pared y hay que sacarla y girarla si quieres verla desde la cama. Si extiendes la tv no puedes pasar hacia el otro lado de la habitación. El baño está bastante bien, aunque el lavabo es algo pequeño. Pero está limpio y no nos faltó nada durante la estancia. La situación es excelente, muy céntrico. El personal de recepción también es muy agradable. Había una chica mejicana y otro chico brasileño, con los que estuvimos hablando algún día y nos dieron buenos consejos. Un 10 para ellos. Tampoco nos cobraron ningún depósito cuando hicimos el check-in. Aunque el hotel tiene algunos fallos, y el precio es alto, lo recomiendo para alojarse.

I stayed at The Clarence Sydney Hotel for four nights. The biggest highlight is definitely the location. It’s right in the centre of everything close to Wynyard Station, Town Hall, QVB, and even within walking distance to Circular Quay in about 20 minutes. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room size was reasonable for a city hotel. However, cleanliness needs improvement as dust was noticeable throughout the room. Because the property is right on the street, you can also expect some party noise and traffic sounds at night. Overall, I’d recommend this hotel for travellers who prioritise a great, convenient location above all else. #Room 606
