This hotel delivers a genuinely high-end experience at a price that feels almost too good to be true. The building is purpose built, which really shows – the rooms are spacious, beautifully laid out, and exceptionally well insulated. Even with the hotel fully booked, it was pin-drop quiet. I didn’t hear a single sound from other rooms or hallways, which is rare and hugely appreciated. The location is another big win. It’s an easy stroll to the lake, perfect for walking or relaxing, and brilliantly convenient for day-to-day needs. There’s a Woolworths Metro literally next door, and the Labour Club is physically connected to the hotel, making dining and entertainment effortless. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the service. The front desk staff are warm, professional and genuinely helpful, and housekeeping is outstanding. In fact, their honesty deserves special mention. I accidentally left something valuable in my room, and the staff called me twice to make sure I knew. Having stayed in many hotels over the years and lost items forever, this level of integrity is rare and deeply impressive. I honestly can’t speak highly enough of this hotel. It ticks every box – comfort, location, service and value – and delivers a very polished, premium experience without the premium price tag. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and would recommend it without reservation. Oh and the Chrome Cast actually works - again a rarity I find.

We were looking for a hotel in this area for a one night stay and this worked well for us. The reception staff were friendly at all times. They checked us in to our room when we arrived 30 minutes early which we appreciated. Our room was clean and comfortable and at a decent price. So It was perfectly fine for a stay as long as you aren't looking for anything too exciting or luxurious (and it doesn't claim to be that). Like a couple of other reviewers, we did find the lifts in the parking area quite confusing when we parked before getting a room key. There are signs and a number to call but we would encourage the hotel to work out a more streamlined way to get into the hotel before getting a room key. Not a major issue.

We were very disappointed.

Outstanding bathroom facilities, very comfortable bed, pleasant staff. This hotel was let down by the faulty heating, the absence of an external ramp at the entry to reception and its location in a very scruffy area of the nation's capital.

Good Nice view from the 7th floor window to the lake Lots of power outlets Modern refurb Light painting Good lighting in bedroom Comfy beds, pillow selection Not so good Disinterested reception staff, not impressed that I asked for a 2nd luggage rack - did they think we were going to stack both cases on top of each other or live off the floor ? Steam function on the iron didn’t work, reported. Tiny table, room for one or half of one person. No information on how to access wifi, had to ask staff. Harsh overhead lighting in the bathroom makes it difficult to put make-up on. Very little bench space in bathroom, makes it cramped to lay out all your stuff while you're using it unless you put it in the sink. No Netflix option, just chrome cast rubbish which we don't use. Limited tv stations with 50% ads. Even country bumpkin motels offer Netflix and prime. Mould in shower. No cooling button on hairdryer.

We stayed at the Mercure Canberra Belconnen for two nights. We were upgraded to the King Superior room from Queen standard - what a lovely surprise. The reception staff were very friendly. It was very clean and a beautiful room to stay in. The bed was amazing and comfortable pillows. You could watch TV or Chrome and you can access your Netflix, Prime etc. If you have an EV, there is free telsa granny charging if your car is compatible. We heard no noise whatsoever. The location was near Westfield but didn't have time to explore. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
