Very average stay

Prices were excessive due to time of year. Unfortunatley there are better places to stay. Room was hot due to curtains being open and aircon not on when I arrived. The aircon is over the door and no direct flow into the sleeping area. So hot nights sleep. As a Diamond member with accor there is normally extras left in the room. Only a bottle of water that barely fits in the time refridgerator that doesn't cool so don't keep food in there. No freezer. No bathroom amenitied ie shower cap, sanitary bags. Room Service didn't service the room even though I told them I was going out so I had to call reception to get clean towels. The staff were nice at reception. Needless to say I won't be coming back. If it's hot in the room in summer then it will be freezing in winter.

Room for improvement on the service and behavior of the reception staff.

Stayed here for three days over a weekend. After a long day's travel on the Friday arrived to a very poor reception. The young man at reception loaded the EFPOS machine with $100.00 for me to pay, to cover "Incidentals" When I refused to pay, he then looked at the computer, and quickly retracted, the bond, stating that he had a long day. I found the room to be very good. Not a lot of room between the bed and the wall. The rain shower configuration was great. The shower was exceptional. Unfortunately the room was not serviced on the Saturday. I had to go to reception for my milk, and coffee. On checking out the man behind reception, asked for $120.00 for meal expenses.I don't have any sense of humor, at my age, for this sort of nonsense. Again, I said NO and he retracted the request. Maybe the receptionist thinks their funny. I was pleased with this location, and will consider staying again, should I want accommodation in the area. Breakfast at the Lone Star was very good. Right next door, and a typical Hotel Breakfast menu.

It was my first time staying at this hotel. I have a mixed feeling about my experience. Positive: Very friendly staff and welcoming. Rooms are well maintained and big. Bathroom is very spacious. Not so positive: It is centrally located, althought I counted time walking from the hotel to the harbour, 25 to 30 minutes. As Auckland city is builder on many different volcano fields, it is very hilly which means a steepy walk back to the hotel. My room's safe is not working and I was told it can not be required. The gym is so small and not very useful. Welcome drink for Gold member: very limited option unlike those offered by its counterparts such as Novotel. I arrived at the bar at 4.30pm, had a welcome drink and ask if Happy Hour is still on and was told it had finished despite it advertised the happy hour is between 4 and 6pm. Overall it was a comfortable stay but there are more rooms for further improvement.

I stayed at Mercure Queen Street. I came on own for family meet up. Was too early to check into actual room but they were very accommodating. I paid for parking and put car there. Was very secure underground parking, not bad price for assurance of security. The man put my case into locked cupboard u til I returned later to room. Lovely room, decor great. Bathroom and everything modern and clean. All staff I saw were friendly, polite and accommodating. Definitely be back if in Auckland 👍👍

The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are nicely done. The beds are comfortable and bathrooms clean. The hotel was let down by its service. We were a couple staying there and they only give one coffee sachet each per day, they didn’t not replenish the bathroom products when housekeeping were servicing the room. They didn’t give slippers but only one pair, not two. The final gripe was the heating, it was locked out and 18 degrees and the room felt very cold. We did get the temperature increased but it’s kept resetting to 18 degrees after around 15 minutes. For the price of this hotel, I felt I would be better staying at the ibis budget down the road. This is the first time I have had such issues at an Accor hotel.
