Good downtown location

Stayed here after 3 weeks in a camper van before our flight home to the UK. Good central location and new modern and clean room. Good size. You can walk to everything from here. The hotel is up hill from the centre but there are plenty of taxis if you have issues. There is no bar or restaurant but it is connected to the Loan Star bar and restaurant next door. I would stay again.

Had visited Auckland for a short one day trip and found this hotel which was also in the middle of Auckland CBD! Great location and a comfortable stay. A very helpful and friendly staff. Special mention to Krysha and Nehall on the front desk, forgive me If I spelled their names incorrectly. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Ask for room range around the 09 range. These are away from Meyer Pk. It's on a hill away from city downtown so the plus is that less beggars. Granted it's a bit steep to walk to it, but the hotel is modern reno from an office building. Has a car park attached. And Lone Star diner. Away from supermarkets like New World/countdown but ok if you just need a good place in the CBD without paying $350 a night. Has good pressure hot water and no longbath, +++! Easy for supershuttle pickup and drop off.

I stayed here a couple of times since the opening and there are very obvious signs of deterioration… last time I alerted the front desk to the cleaning issues and I received a sincere apology and I booked again. The room was a mess - the carpet appeared dirty and the bathroom was full of black mould. I told the front desk my frustration and was advised that housekeeping removes mould in two rooms per week … that probably means a shower will be treated every two years - yuk!

We stayed here for two nights after we arrived in New Zealand. The room was clean and with a comfortable bed and was quiet. The first night we walked round to Karangahape Road which had a wide range of bars and restaurants and had a very good meal in Apero wine bar. The hotel is at the top of Queen St, so it’s a nice walk downhill to the shopping area (15 mins) and harbour. Worth noting that if you’re picking up a hire car, as we were, there’s an ‘EVA’ (environmental restriction) for one block of Queen St so you need to drive round and come through City Rd to avoid a fine. On a recommendation from the friendly staff in Apero we caught the ferry to Waiheke island, which is well worth a visit, even in the rain.
