The staff at this hotel provided great customer service. My room was nicely decorated but showed signs of wear (frayed carpets, scuff marks along the walls, warped wood trim, etc.) The electric kettle in the room was dirty and stained. I would have asked the front desk for a replacement but thought that might end up being dirty too. Instead, I went to the store, bought a sponge and dish soap and cleaned the kettle myself before using it.

Honestly one of the best value for money hotels I ever stayed. The place was spotless. Comfy beds and nice size rooms. Showers big and hot. And best of all the staff were truly some of the friendliest kindest I've meet over the years while travelling. Thanks to Daniel and Julia they made me feel so welcomed from the moment I walked in. I would highly recommend and if I'm in Glasgow again I know where I'll be staying. Awesome 👍

Comfortable and welcoming, but a few snags

Booking was easy. The hotel is conveniently located for rail travellers from the south – a short walk from Glasgow Central Station. Checking in was friendly, informal and quick. The two lifts were efficient. My room (607 on the 6th floor – photos) was spacious and quiet, with a comfortable bed, a wide window, a big TV screen, facilities for making tea and coffee, good lighting, plenty of power points and a well-equipped bathroom (photos). Lacking in my opinion were a) adequate storage space for the guests’ possessions; and b) a surface suitable for placing and using a laptop computer. The chair and bedside table were not suitable for that. The control for the air-conditioning (photo) took time to master; the lack of instructions contrasted with the containers for shampoo and soap, which were amusingly labelled (photo). The shower door was not properly fitted and was consequently difficult to open. In one of the photos, the bathroom door is held open by the footstool; this was because the door had a very efficient self-closing mechanism, which prevented the guest from listening to radio/television while in the bathroom. The cleaning staff were discreet and efficient. The decoration (names of pop groups of yesteryear) in my bathroom (photo) was a harbinger of the breakfast experience. The buffet was extremely varied, with a changing range of local items, such as haggis, black pudding and potato scones (no champit neeps [mashed turnips] during my three-night stay). Many customers had to make several visits to the buffet, because no trays were provided. For me, the unending stream of music of the pop groups of yesteryear became very irritating. It might help to know that the writer of this is an 82-year-old Englishman who studied at Glasgow University.

Had a great stay here very comfortable & well sized room. Hotel is in a great location, close to shopping, bars & restaurants. Breakfast was excellent, had everything you could want and the staff were so friendly and attentive. Late check out was an added bonus could not ask for any more, would highly recommend xx

Absolute Wonder Place to Stay

Arrived to a very warm welcome and weekend was the same warm customer service throughout. The room was exceptional in all aspects can’t pick a single fault. The facilities were excellent and staff were all of a high standard. Thank you for a wonderful weekend and next time we stay in Glasgow we will definitely not be staying elsewhere.
