Good location for decent price

Decent stay for a quick overnight. Hotel is in a great location, parking is cumbersome but they validate for a discount. Double twin room was decent and clean but condition of hotel was a little run down. Breakfast selection was good with a bar on site.

Excellent central hotel

The hotel is really central with bars, restaurants & shops nearby. Our room was comfy ( although I personally could have done with softer pillows) & clean with everything we needed for our weekend. The decor throughout is nicely themed on Glasgow . Didn't have breakfast but had a drink in the bar & it was reasonably priced for a city centre. All the staff we met were cheerful & helpful.

Very central hotel

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Although we were a bit early they had our room ready which is a great help. The room was a good size, clean and with everything we required. The breakfast was of good quality and a good range of items and we ,could get coffee whenever we wished.

Sounds like you had an enjoyable time with us and great to hear we could get you into your room early. Thanks for visiting and we hope to see you again soon.

Recent trip to Glasgow

The hotel is in an ideal location, in the centre of Glasgow. On arrival there was an issue with our booking, this was dealt with, and the desired outcome reached, however, the individual checking us in blamed another employee who was absent, for the issue. The overall impression was that this person really needed to apply a more professional attitude when greeting customers . The person wore a hoodie with no indication of their name or position. It just seemed off somehow … and implying that there was no evidence of our booking, it was a disappointing start to our trip to Glasgow. Later on, when our rooms became available, two different staff members greeted us. This time our experience was so much better, they were very helpful, polite and professional. The rooms were clean enough. Water pressure in the showers was poor. Pillows were all very firm, and uncomfortable, beds not particularly comfortable. Breakfast was very basic, limited choices, below average quality. Hot drinks were available all day, which was very welcome on our arrival… however the drip tray often needed to be emptied, otherwise the machine would not operate. On one occasion when a staff member was asked if someone would be able to empty the tray, it very clearly irritated the staff member, who reluctantly carried the task out whilst muttering under their breath. There are many hotels in Glasgow I would gladly stay in, time after time and recommend to friends and family, sadly, after our experience, this is not one of them.

Room was nice

Let’s start with what was good: 1) Location; and 2) the room was actually quite nice, a good shout out to Glasgow with the decor. The famous traffic cone and the ship building industry (cranes) featuring on the walls, paintings and even the bathroom mirror. Negatives: 1) The room we had (416) was very dark…even on a lovely sunny October afternoon…it was like we didn’t even have a window! We did, it was just where the room was positioned. God knows how dark 316 and 216 would be! 2) The shower…no power unless you like cold showers; 3) Breakfast - dreadful; 4) Service. Some of the staff did not seem to have adequate uniform and the guy who checked us in just had black T-shirt on. At breakfast there was just a lack of people collecting plates, cleaning tables and asking if you were ok. Won’t be back. Sorry.
