I had an amazing experience here. The ambience of the hotel was very soothing and relaxing. The breakfast was really good and the staff were fantastic! From the reception to housekeeping and restaurants, Barakat, Fabrice, Nurudin, the delightful Maria and ever smiling Sabina, Sonu, Shubam and Abhay were very helpful. My big thank you goes to Ankur , one of the reception managers, for going extra mile to make my stay memorable! I loved everything about the hotel and will visit again!!!

Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk: Lovely hotel with a convenient location

This is our second stay at Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk, and we’re checking out today. The hotel is in a great location, and overall, it’s been a lovely experience. The rooms are comfortable and stylish, the pool area is beautiful, and my kids enjoyed their time in the kids club. The staff are friendly and attentive, making sure we felt welcome from start to finish. As a Platinum member, we enjoyed free access to Club Millésime, which has been a fantastic benefit. Relaxing atmosphere, good breakfast and afternoon tea and great service. However, at Club Millésime policy kids under 12, aren’t allowed in the lounge during the 5-7 pm happy hour as alcohol is served during these hours. This restriction is common in Dubai, likely due to local rules. But strangely, the hotel’s alternative is to offer families a place in a pub filled with alcohol, which feels less suitable for children than the lounge itself. We ended up having our food outside the hotel’s premises. Overall, Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk offers a great experience, but these policies makes it not much kids friendly.

The hotel is situated very nearby the main airport which is great, however the traffic surrounding the hotel is absolutely horrendous meaning it can take up to 45 minutes to get out of the circle to the main highway. Most nights sat in taxi/car for extremely long periods of time before being able to get on to the highway. Another downside is that it's situated nearby hospitals - every night the sirens are going which are extremely loud. The pillows and the mattress are extremely soft which may suit some however, after 3 days of returning i'm still in agony with my back and neck. Food is lovely, wide range, staff friendly and approachable.
