We stayed there for 5 nights in an extra large room. Although I made the reservation months ago, we were given an accessible room during the check-in without asking my confirmation. We were told that the mini bar at room was free of charge and renewed everyday. However, even the bottled water not renewed. When I asked the reception for a bottled water they told us we should be asking daily for minibar to be renewed and did not give us water saying that it can only be replaced by housekeeping during the day. The towels were worn out as well. The extra large room we stayed was spacious however by design it was dark (not enough lighting) and the decoration felt out-dated. The breakfast selection and the service were also mediocre. The only positive I can think of is its relatively central location. Overall, the hotel does not worth the hype for this price level.

I am currently at the Royal Bavarian to visit the Christmas markets with my husband. The good: Great location, super cool vibe, very clean, water temp and pressure in shower are fabulous, free mini bar (not a great selection, but, hey, it's free), nice thick towels, good mattresses. The not-so-good: The lighting is TERRIBLE - hallway is so dark I almost don't feel safe, corner closet is black inside and there's no light to see the contents, lights in room are very yellow and give a strange cast to skin tone, no decent light to apply makeup so be prepared to do makeup at the window with a small compact. The fabulous: Boilerman Bar is fantastic! Provided soap, lotion, and bodywash all smell unbelievable. The provided backpack was so useful for carrying my purchases. Hubby is trying to talk me out of buying one for myself.

The quirkiest hotel we've ever stayed in. The room was large and comfortable and even contained a bike! A few complimentary bits in the fridge and even a sustainable bag to use when going out and about. A lot of great detail and thought. The bar was full and lively, even on a week night! Breakfast was plentiful and the selection covered all bases from traditional German, Continental and Full English. Staff were friendly and attentive and available 24 hours a day. There might not have been pretty views but it is perfectly situated next to tram and trains for exploration.

Our room had dark grey walls and ceiling. It was depressing. Lighting was poor, so applying make-up or putting in contact lenses was difficult. We asked and were given extra lamps. There was no sink in the bathroom. This was bizarrely and inconveniently located in the bedroom. No bidet. The bathroom flooded with every shower and as there was nowhere to hang towels, we were obliged to change them every day. So much for sustainability! There was zero information about the hotel or its services in our room relating to breakfast, bars etc. On two occasions the door to our room was opened by the cleaner, inspite of the lock being applied. Fortunately, the last time it happened it was a female cleaner, as my mother of 85 was naked! The bar by the reception was very noisy and dingy at night. Corridors on the 2nd floor are also dark and dingy. The minibar was never replenished. This hotel is better suited to younger people who have good mobility and aren't in need of either a bidet or a sink in the bathroom. We were seriously underwhelmed by this hotel and will not return. It is not worth the money it charges. Good points: the location is excellent. The bar by the restaurant is handy and the waitresses very good, but it shuts far too early.

While our rooms' design and layout are clearly shown in photos across all booking platforms, we understand that expectations can still differ. Regarding the bathroom, it’s true that bidets are uncommon in most hotels in Germany. However, towel hooks are indeed available in all our bathrooms. As for the flooding issue, we apologize and will have our maintenance team inspect the room to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We regret the misunderstanding about the hotel information. There is a colorful folder in every room containing details about our services, including breakfast and bar hours, and additional information is accessible via the TV system. If this was missing or unclear, we apologize sincerely. The incident with our cleaning staff entering your room despite the lock is deeply concerning, and we are truly sorry for any distress caused to your mother. This is not the standard of service we aim to provide, and we will address this with our housekeeping team to prevent such occurrences in the future. Regarding the minibar, as explained at check-in, we do not automatically replenish it to align with our sustainability efforts. However, we are always happy to refill it upon request. Lastly, the restaurant operates until 11 PM, while the bar stays open until at least 1 AM. We’re glad you enjoyed the service there, but we apologize if the closing times didn’t align with your expectations. We are grateful for your positive comments about our location and the bar staff, and we’re sorry that the overall experience didn’t match your hopes. After years of trips to hotels all over UK and Europe I finally achieved my holy grail of finding a perfect venue. Thank you to the 25 Hours The Royal Bavarian in Munchen. A great design, vibe, ethos and character from the entrance to the rooms and all the quirky extras and back. Innovative design, nice touches (a bike in the room for exploring and loved the Swan pillow idea) and excellent value for money. How refreshing to go into a hotel room and find a note on the mini bar saying 'I'm free'.! Oh and not to forget the friendly and helpful staff too!! I missed breakfast due to an early flight but I have no doubt that would be equally good.
