Fun quirky hotel beware the trams and sleepless nights.

Fun quirky hotel, beware the trams and sleepless nights! Do not agree to take room 112 under any circumstances. The trams are converging from different directions right outside the window. Constant bell ringing it was awful. These rooms should be sold at a reduced cost as you get no sleep at all. The first two days of the holiday I walked around like a zombie with no sleep. The rooms themselves are clean and very quirky and the minibar is a nice touch. Beds are comfy. After the second day of no sleep. I enquired if the reception had ear plugs after searching everywhere to no avail, I asked would it be possible to change rooms. When I told him the room number he said that room was always a problem. Why give it out and at the same price as other rooms. I was so tired at this point. The new room although smaller was silent. Room 229 if you would like a good sleep. Breakfast was a disappointment especially given the cost. Constantly asking for food, bread bags empty, waffle batter empty, sausages empty, juice empty. The last thing you want to do is keep badgering the staff for food. I asked for a latte and the waiter came back three times to ask what I had asked for. Much better on the Monday and Tuesday with what appeared to be different staff. There was a reasonable variety of food and of good quality when available. The sauna was great as was the foot spa and gym. Location wise it’s a short walk from Marienplatz and that suited us. Would we stay again possibly. If we were given a room away from the roads and didn’t bother to add on breakfast we might stay again. When leaving we were asked how our stay was. I explained that the first two nights were awful and they just stated that was a bad room. No sorry.

The good: Located a very essy walk from the train station with an exit outside. Free mini bar albeit not replenished. Quirky fun decor. The bad: Staff training lacking. Lack of knowledge of Accor loyalty program. Conflicting information. The maid left ditlrty cups around and didnt replenish minibar.

What a beautiful hotel set right in the area we wanted to visit. The reception staff are friendly and are happy to go the extra mile The hotel is stunning with beautiful rooms and a lovely breakfast restaurant and upstairs bar serving cocktails with live musicians and lovely staff which gave a lovely atmosphere. The room itself was quirky and spotlessly clean, excellent free mini-bar too - great touch! We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough we had an excellent stay!

We booked via ALL.com and stayed here for 3 nights and then 1 night. Although “quirky” and in a good location we were very disappointed as the hotel didn’t meet the usual ALL standards. If you are an ALL gold/platinum member don’t expect the usual (or indeed any) benefits, no early check in, no room upgrade as they claimed to be full (they weren’t!), no welcome drink and on our second stay no sleep as we were given perhaps the worst room in the hotel and worst of all No Coffee in the room ……why??? We have travelled the world and have always had coffee available in the room for those early starts. Reception staff are pleasant but clearly instructed to say no to even the simplest request. On our first stay our room overlooked an internal light well, it was small but ok, we felt the room was best suited to solo travellers or exhibitionists as there is no en-suite, washbasin is in the room and shower is separated by a clear glass door so there’s absolutely no privacy. Thankfully the toilet has a door!!! On our second stay a few days later we were allocated a room on the first floor on the corner of the building with trams a few meters away converging from 3 directions. They thundered and creaked all night long, sleep was impossible - I suspect any room with a view of the street will be the same. Opposite the front of the hotel is a huge building site with the area being redeveloped so more noise. Restaurant is ok but pricey, breakfast was good but quite a cost uplift on the room rate. Munich is a fabulous city, don’t spoil your time in the city by staying here - there are many better hotels.

The hotel locates just few minutes walking distance from Munich main station and also not too far from Karltor. The decoration is quite unique and interesting. Not really my taste but I do appreciate the funny factors within. The staff are wonderful. Super friendly and willing to help. I had breakfast reservation but couldn't have it because my flight was early. They packed me quite some stuff that I spent 3 mornings to finish them. XDDD Special thanks to Etienne who assisted me for checking and Jules who gave me good advises for checkout time and transportation methods to airport with great patience. Also the free minibar is really good (though I didn't enjoy them due to some diet restrictions )
