Celebrating my birthday at The Retreat Palm Dubai was one of the best decisions I made. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for, which made the experience even more special for me and my family. Walking into our room and seeing the birthday arrangement waiting for me was such a beautiful and unexpected surprise. My sincere thanks to the housekeeping team, especially Val, for putting together such a thoughtful setup. Dinner at Vibe during Seafood Night was another highlight, everything was fresh, delicious, and prepared with care. Thank you to Caroline and Ahmed for the warm service and for surprising me with a birthday cake — it truly meant a lot. Breakfast the next day was equally amazing, with a wide variety of appetizing dishes that left us completely full and satisfied. Thank you to Thelma for making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our morning. We also spent time at the heated swimming pool, where my 1 year old daughter had so much fun — a moment I will always remember. Thank you to Mitch for being so kind and playful with her. Most especially, I want to thank Diana. Your attention to detail, effort, and care made this celebration incredibly meaningful. Because of you, my birthday felt not just celebrated, but truly cherished. Thank you to everyone who made my 29th birthday so special 🙏

We had a truly wonderful stay at The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The seafood dinner buffet was outstanding, with excellent quality and variety, and the breakfast spread was huge, offering something for everyone. Our room was very cozy, clean, and relaxing, making it a perfect retreat for our family. A special thanks to the Housekeeping team, especially Deepak and Maria, for maintaining exceptional cleanliness throughout our stay. At Vibe, Ahmed provided great service, and Chef Nizam at the live seafood grilling counter impressed us with both his food and interaction. The sweet and welcoming hostess Caroline made dining even more pleasant. The Front Office team deserves special appreciation — Abhishek, Widad, Chris, Zia, and Mohandas were all warm, professional, and extremely helpful. Our daughter had a lovely time at the Kids Club, thanks to Michelle, and our toddler especially enjoyed the pool, which was very family-friendly. Most importantly, thank you to the entire team for making my wife’s birthday so special with beautiful celebrations and a lovely surprise room setup. These thoughtful gestures truly touched us. Overall, we are very happy and grateful for this memorable stay and would highly recommend The Retreat Palm Dubai to families and couples looking for a relaxing and joyful experience. 🌴✨

A mixed experience - a disappointing start, made better by some lovely staff but unfortunately we won’t return

We are currently staying at The Retreat by Sofitel The Palm and, unfortunately, our experience so far has been mixed. Prior to arrival, we emailed a few days in advance to explain that we would be travelling overnight from the UK with a small baby and asked if anything could be done to help make check-in smoother or have a room available early. After a long overnight journey, we arrived exhausted and waited at reception for around an hour with a very distressed baby, only to be told our room would not be ready for another two hours. We completely understand that early check-in cannot be guaranteed, but after pre-warning the hotel and explaining our circumstances, we had hoped for a more proactive or compassionate approach. After requesting an alternative room, we were shown to a first-floor room overlooking a construction site. The noise was significant and clearly unsuitable for a baby needing to sleep. We were told the only option was to pay to upgrade to the other side of the hotel, which we felt obliged to do given the situation. For a hotel under the Sofitel name, this was a disappointing start to what we had hoped would be a relaxing family break. The hotel itself is pleasant but feels somewhat dated in places. We also found our room was not cleaned every day and the days it was, it was not until after 3pm which made it difficult to use the room in the afternoon for our baby’s nap. That said, we would like to highlight the restaurant staff at Vibe, who have been exceptional with our baby girl — warm, patient and genuinely kind. They have been a real positive during our stay. We are on the all-inclusive package, but it feels more restrictive than expected. The in-room minibar (which only contains soft drinks, as this is a dry hotel) is not included, despite soft drinks being included elsewhere. The lobby snack bar is also chargeable, and at the Turkish restaurant there is a strict three-course limit — on two occasions we asked for an extra portion of hummus and were told no, which felt unnecessarily rigid. We are still mid-stay and genuinely hope the hotel can turn things around, as we would love to leave with a more positive impression than our arrival experience has given us so far.

Great value for beach hotel on The Palm

Great hotel at excellent value. Nice sunbeds with cushions on the beach, plenty of them so no rushing down. Hotel really went above and beyond for my partner by arranging a birthday cake, pregnancy pillow, and decoration on arrival. She also fainted on the beach during the week and all the hotel staff were excellent, especially Thushara the lifeguard. Good breakfast spread and again lovely waitresses there especially Thelma always looking after us so well. Only minor complaint was drinks not allowed in the pool despite a pool bar. Wouldn’t be an issue if the pool bar area didn’t consistently have kids splashing constantly, all whilst requiring your phone in hand to pay for said drinks with Accor membership/card. Would return happily.
