My family and I returned from a trip to the Rixos a few days ago. Having read the reviews before we went, our expectations were high. However, nothing prepared us for the excellent experience we had. The hotel is located on the eastern crescent/semicircle of the Palm. It's a breathtaking sea front location which takes in views of the Burj Al Arab, the Dubai skyline, and Atlantis the Palm/The Royal. Some have said that the hotel is a distance from the central Dubai areas; this is true - we paid a lot of money in taxis to get to the Marina and Burj Khalifa. The location is gorgeous, though, and we were always glad to return from the busy areas of Dubai back to the tranquillity of the Palm. We booked a premium sea view room (the sea view is well worth the additional cost: the hotel has its own beach and gorgeous pools which the rooms overlook). The room was incredibly clean and had a spacious bathroom with power shower and roll-top bath. The toiletries are L'Occitane and Molton Brown. If you prefer baths to showers, please note that the shampoo and conditioner is attached to the shower wall, so you will need to bring your own products. The hairdryer was also poor and we would bring our own if we came again (we will be visiting again). I am very fussy about pillows and brought my own travel pillow, but didn't need to use it. The facilities are out of this world...three fantastic pools, plus one kids' pool. I particularly enjoyed the lane swimming pool which was for 16+ years of age. Special mention should also go to the well-equipped gym and the incredible spa. My mum and I went in the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna; they also offer massages and treatments (at a cost) and a hair/beauty salon. The Rixos is the only ultra all-inclusive in Dubai, and they do it so well. No matter what time of day it is, you can always find something wonderful to eat or drink. If you stay for a certain number of nights, you're allowed 3 nights in the fine dining, A-La Carte restaurants. We only tried L'Olivo (Italian) and La Toro Loco (steakhouse), but they were both out of this world. My mum had the rack of lamb in L'Olivo and said that it was the best meal she'd ever had. The buffet is also really good; we had some lovely soups, fresh fruit, amazing bread - there really is something for everyone with the selection. Yet none of these things - the facilities, the food, the cleanliness of the hotel - are the reason I'm giving it 5+ stars. It's all down to the staff. Huge credit to the management of this hotel; the staff really are the jewel in the Rixos Palm crown. All staff were wonderful, but special mentions go to: Recep and Lakshitha in L'Olivo...these two made our holiday. Incredible service and polite to a fault. Their attention to detail was second to none. Niraj in Toro Loco was also utterly fantastic. Eunice in the Patisserie; Mark in reception - and lovely Manuka who did a brilliant job cleaning each day. The chefs are absolutely brilliant at what they do, and the doormen/concierge were so helpful from start to finish. We tried to praise the staff as much as we could whilst we were there, and I know that a good review means a lot to them. We will be booking - like so many other guests on this page - to return next year. Thank you, Rixos, for an incredible holiday.
