After our long journey on our flights, we were looking forward to arriving at our hotel, especially as we were exhausted due to long connecting hours. Our driver left us unfortunately in front of Swissotel Makkam. We were not aware at the time that we were on the other side of the Clock tower. We tried looking for any directives indicating where to head but there were none. After being directed in conflicting directions, we sat in a food court and my hubby went looking. After a while he came back victorious and we headed towards the hotel. Check in was relatively fast and we got our keys to our quad room. We did not want to see the Kaaba so we had the kids close the curtains. The room is a bit cramped with four beds. You only get a narrow corridor to walk through in between the beds and the desk and this is where i performed my swalaats. We had reserved the night before we came and had paid for breakfast. We were grateful we were allowed to have our breakfast even if we were approaching closing time. We were hungry at this point as our flight landed at 6.30am and it was near 10.30am. We rapidly selected some food and managed to eat even if they were starting to store the food away. The first night we were understandably still very tired and our sleep was disturbed by loud noises ; this is why i classify this hotel as a 4 star hotel. There was a connecting door in our room. It was locked but we could hear all the noise made by the people in the other room. They were talking loudly, laughing and what's not. This happened on the last night too with children screaming. You could make out what the people were saying so it was that loud. Otherwise, we had an overall good experience. The food at the restaurant were varied and good. The restaurant itself is very big and can accomodate large number of people. We appreciated the helpfulness of the staff there. The wait for the lifts can be daunting so if you need to go to haram for swalaat, best go much before the azaan or else you might miss it because of the lifts being either full or taking time to come. The hotel is very well situated near the haram and it is at most a 5 mins walk. This is very convenient and you can also access the clock tower mall and food court easily. Checkout was fast and we greatly appreciated the help of the bellboy who managed to flag a taxi even if the roads were closed. Thanks again. Be careful, the roads are closed when swalaat is near so take that into consideration if you need to explore Makkah.

Early check in request for just one hour was not fulfilled for an Accor Gold member. We are family of 5 adults. The Accor check-in advisor gave us a temporary room with only two beds to wait whilst over two bedrooms were being prepared. Waited there for about an hour and then moved to our allocated bed rooms one of which was still under preparation. We have to wait in a corridor whilst the cleaner was getting it ready. Also, the Accor advisor promised to deliver us the coffee whilst we were waiting in a temporary room, which was never delivered.

Beautiful hotel with view of the kabba on the 41st floor wow. And my room service was served by a very lovely gentleman named Bahauddin who made the stay even more pleasant thank you. The only downside was the WiFi was a bit slow but to be honest very minor issue
