The room was excellent — comfortable, well-designed, and truly impressive. However, attention to detail could be improved, particularly regarding the placement of stickers and signage. Some were applied unevenly and appeared rather careless, which slightly detracts from the overall premium impression. Breakfast Experience I also believe pest control requires more serious attention, especially in the buffet area. On January 14th, at approximately 9:56–9:57 AM, I clearly saw a rat running into the space beneath the counter near the egg station (this should be visible on CCTV). This was quite concerning and should be addressed urgently. Hot water was difficult to find, and the water dispenser gallons were not promptly refilled, despite the hotel occupancy being very low. Staff should perform more frequent checks on food and beverage stock availability to ensure consistent service quality. I ordered an egg white omelet, which took an unusually long time to be prepared, even though the breakfast area was quiet at that time. I specifically requested mixed condiments, and the staff member wearing a hijab (without a name tag) confirmed the order. However, the omelet was eventually served plain, without any condiments. Regarding the herbal drink (jamu), this may be a matter of personal preference, but based on my experiences at other Accor hotels in Indonesia, jamu is typically served chilled over ice, which provides a much fresher and more enjoyable taste. I understand that breakfast service was nearing its end, yet it would be more appropriate if staff collected their own drinks from the kitchen area rather than the guest buffet while guests were still dining (at around 10:10 AM). It was uncomfortable to see staff, still wearing aprons, taking food and beverages from the guest buffet. Finally, my sincere appreciation goes to the staff members Tito and Sugi in the breakfast buffet area — both were professional, experienced, and genuinely helpful. Special recognition also to Hesty (or Resty), who proactively informed guests about the breakfast closing time and handled the situation very efficiently. She truly stood out, and other staff members could greatly benefit from following her example.

This is definitely the place to stay if you want to stay near a walkable area in Jakarta more precisely near the Old town Batavia. The room offers you everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I truly recommend this hotel and will not hesitate to stay here again.

I was very impressed with the service during my stay at Mercure Jakarta Batavia. I would like to express my special appreciation to Roy and Erna for their warm assistance and professionalism upon our arrival. Roy was courteous and efficient in helping us with our luggage, while Erna ensured our check-in process was smooth and pleasant. Their genuine hospitality truly reflects the high standards of the hotel. The good: The hotel is spacious and the lobby is quite nice, it was quiet which suited me. The actual rooms were very good, shower was great and beds were comfortable. The breakfast and buffet dinner were also quite reasonable but probably not enough choice to be truly an international hotel. The room air conditioning worked well. It’s not too far from the airport depending on traffic and time of day. The bad: The pool bar could not even provide a beer let alone any of the cocktails on their menu. The only spirit available was whiskey…therefore they couldn’t make any cocktails. Truly bizarre. The downstairs bar, which had inside smoking and poor ventilation, did have select beers and some wines; again no other spirit except whiskey despite having a cocktail menu. Wifi access wasn’t provided, they didn’t have bottled water but filtered water was freely available, so take your own water bottle. Items such as toothbrush, shaving kit etc were also not in the room; a phone call to reception was needed to get these. There was a problem with our keycard which was eventually rectified. I didn’t feel safe walking in the area, so using a grab or taxi is recommended.
