I recently stayed in a Residence Premiere Bedroom with my family, for four nights in June/July 2024. We had a fantastic experience, from pre-reservation to post-check-out. The entire staff was so attentive and responsive. Reservations answered many of my questions before I booked my stay. The crib for our two-year old was set up prior to our arrival. Concierge arranged for our transportation, delivery of our luggage to a different hotel, and helped us throughout our stay. Our Residence Premiere room was spotless and very well equipped, with a large fridge, laundry/washer, air dresser, stovetop and basic cookware. Perfect for our family with two young kids. Our entire family also enjoyed the indoor pool each morning. The location was also perfect for us. It is in a quieter part of Seoul (compared to where we've stayed before), near the DDP, three metro lines, and also has many conveniences/food options nearby. We have stayed in several high-end hotels in Seoul at this point, and it is safe to say that our next stay will most likely be back at this Novotel. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

It could be nice, but it turned out to be a bad story with horrible customer service.

The hotel has nice things to offer. Unfortunately, my review is blinded by my own bad experience. I travelled with my son, who is 18 years old. Seoul is a city full of value-for-money hotels, but because the weather is very hot, and we come from a cold country and will enjoy the summer, we decided to book a Novotel because of its modern and beautiful rooftop pool. We booked through Accor, which we thought was the hotel's website, as it is the one you are linked to via Google. We also checked via Exspedia, as I'm a Gold member there.   When we arrived, we were informed that the rooftop pool was restricted to people under 19. The reason is that the hotel wishes to provide a social experience for the guests in the pool. We could use the indoor pool, but that wasn't in our interest, as we could do this at home, and as other hotels in Seoul offer, for less.  I noted that this information wasn't provided on their website (Accor), Expedia, or Hotels.com. I also told them that the legal age in the EU and the US is 18, and nobody would have looked if their young adults could swim in a hotel pool at that age, especially since the hotels call themselves "family friendly.". In South Korea, the legal age is now 19, but the rule wasn't a law. It was an internal hotel rule made for, I don't know..., especially since the pool was more or less empty. I can understand they don't wish for a youth party, but I don't think the two others Monday morning in the pool would mind an 18-year-old young man swimming with his father in the same Pool. The manager stuck to the rule, even though I asked them to use common sense. I have also checked other five-star Accor hotels in Seoul and Pullman; nobody has the same restrictions. I have travelled to 162 countries, and my son, 87, and I have never experienced he has not been welcome in the pool, even at hotels far higher standard than Novotel. My son actually learned to swim in Novotels' outdoor pool in Buenos Aires! The manager said the rule was mentioned on their own website that it wasn't Accor, even though the hotel is owned by Accor, but "Ambassador Hotel", a link long down on Google. When I looked, it was mentioned, with very small letters under a link. After our arrival, they changed it to a bit more visible, but it is still on a website nobody outside Korea knows about and is not easy to find.   I asked the manager for compensation, but first, after three attempts and a direct question, can we at least get one breakfast? The manager gave us one breakfast the following day, but it wasn't his idea, and he didn't look happy. After serval emails, we also were told we could contact them for late check-out; we got one, 1 PM instead of 12PM! Increde bad customer service. We are heading back to Seoul for some extra days next week. It was my plan to book Novotel again, but now never. I will not stay at a hotel with a manager who is so upset by his rules that it beats common sense and a manager who thinks my 18-year-old son. or any other 18-year-old person in company with a parent can behave in the pool.

Super location. Easy access to most sights in Seoul. Lovely hotel very modern. Strongly recommended. George at the concierge desk was friendly,helpful and attentive. He helped us with storage of our luggage and arranging a taxi to the airport. Excellent customer service by all the staff.

Good location, but it's difficult to use the pool

Good location, and there are many restaurants nearby. There is a shuttle bus stop of Incheon airport in front of the hotel. It's very handy that there is a washing machine/dryer in the room. However, it is a pain in the arse that you have to book to use the pool, and you can only book once a day per room. A couple won't always go swimming at the same time. There are only two lifts in the hotel room tower. You have to be patient. The perfume in the lobby was a bit pungent.

my 2nd times in the hotel

My 2nd times staying at the hotel, first time on November 2023 and 2nd was on May 2024. Eventhough the hotel location a bit far from the famous myeongdong or Hongdae, but I always comeback :-) My preference was room with small kitchen since I have red meat intolerance and prefer something spicy, so sometimes I take some foods from my country and need microwave to heat the foods, so staying in the residence type of room was the best decision so far. Eventhough a bit disapointed since I've made a note asking for highest floor and this time they gave me room at 10th floor but that's okay. Hope that I can visit and stay there anytime soon.
