Complete disregard for guest safety

Stayed 11 nights in a suite at Fairmont Dubai and overall expected a high standard of care consistent with a five-star property. Unfortunately, a serious safety incident occurred during my stay. Late at night, while crossing the hotel access road with my elderly mother, a valet-operated vehicle accelerated aggressively toward us and stopped less than a metre away. The driver did not apologise or acknowledge the incident and drove off. The matter was reported immediately. Senior management acknowledged the seriousness, reviewed CCTV, and confirmed the individual would no longer operate on the property. Those operational steps were appropriate and appreciated. However, the subsequent guest response framed the incident as an “inconvenience” and offered a minimal goodwill gesture that did not reflect the seriousness of a near-miss safety event involving an elderly guest. That framing was inconsistent with the hotel’s own handling of the matter. I escalated this to Accor corporate more than 10 days ago and have yet to receive any follow-up. While parts of the stay were otherwise fine, this experience exposed a troubling gap between safety accountability behind the scenes and how guest impact is addressed. I would encourage management to review how serious incidents are classified and resolved from a guest perspective

After long time i came back to Fairmont and it looks like they did renovations to their rooms as the room furniture was quite new and room equipped with all required amenities and accessories. The only issue i faced was mobile coverage inside the room as there was no signal inside my room # 2421

This was my first and definitely last time staying at Fairmont. From the moment we arrived, the experience was unpleasant. The reception staff gave a bad first impression, and unfortunately, it only got worse. During breakfast, we were made to stand and wait to be seated in a way that felt humiliating, almost as if we were being punished. The attitude and process were extremely uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I also requested that the concierge bring food to my room, but this was refused. I was told that due to hotel policy, I must purchase food only from their restaurant, which felt very inflexible and customer-unfriendly. I even spoke with a supervisor, hoping the situation would be handled more professionally. Sadly, he did not make any effort to improve the experience or even speak in a reassuring or respectful manner. Overall, the service was poor, rigid, and far from the level expected from a hotel like Fairmont. I left with a very negative impression, and I will not be returning.

Experience at Fairmont was fantastic, the facilities are modern and clean, the inclusions are great and the staff were very accomodating and friendly, particularly staff at the reception who gave us the best room available for our honeymoon and Andrew by the pool. The only improvement I would ask the hotel to consider is to refrain from closing the sunrise pool at 2pm and making guests move to the sunset pool where there is no hot water in the spa and the sun doesnt come out until about 3pm

Book a room with a view…it’s spectacular

We booked a Kong room with a view and wow….best decision! We looked over the lit buildings at night and watched the sunrise during the day. So beautiful. Really friendly staff who made us feel welcome at all times. This hotel is really well situated next to the metro station so we made use of that a lot. It literally takes you by train straight to the Burj and mall. An easy three minute walk under cover to reach it. We were out all the time so only got room service for dinner once and that was excellent, beautifully presented. The room was spacious and the bed super comfy. The gym is good also, bigger than normal hotel gyms. Beautiful pools that you can either see the sun rise or set from too.
