Our family booked the heritage tour on a Saturday and it was an enjoyable time hearing from our guide Nazir about the hotel’s history. We had a short walk around the ground and second floors. The premises are beautiful, pristine and serene. We enjoyed the Christmas decorations very much. The tour included a delicious lunch at the Raffles courtyard and a surprise gift.

The Bar is on the Second Floor

We walked around the historic 1887 hotel. It encompasses a lot of land, is very special with beautiful grounds and free bathrooms. One highlight is the Long Bar on the second floor where the legendary Singapore Sling was “invented” by the bartender for ladies who were not supposed to be seen at a bar drinking. Though liquor is in the drink, it looks innocent like fruit juice. The line to enjoy the Singapore Sling in the bar was long, but simply to go see the bar is quick and free.

It was recommended and it lived up to expectations!

Absolutely would say it was great service. Alan was first class and even offered to take pictures . A shout out to Mazelan as well, great contact at the Concierge.

I have wanted to go to this hotel for many years as my parents visited this place on many occasions from the 1980s onwards and loved every visit. I have to say, it did not disappoint. This was actually part of my 60th birthday celebrations and the hotel somehow knew this (no one told them so it must have been on my profile and they picked up on it). They did many things to recognise my birthday and that made it even more special. We hardly left the hotel for the three full days we were there we enjoyed meals, spas, sauna and relaxing by the pool. Every meal we had there was fantastic. I couldn’t pick one out because they were all different. The staff were just amazing. They bet over backwards to help us and every interaction was polite and professional. There were lots of little touches they did that made the stay that little bit extra. One thing they did, which may not seem significant, but made a big impact on me was the room cleaners saw a pile of books on my bedside table and put a simple raffles leather bookmark on top. It may not seem like a lot but that was just a little thing that they did that made me smile and now every time I read, I’m reminded of my stay. As they say, it’s the little things that count. A truly fantastic experience, and I will definitely be back. I think if you’re looking for a legendary hotel stay - not a cookie cutter or big chain experience, then this is the place for you.
