Avista Hideaway, A Hidden Gem.

The hidden gem was the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach Area. A short distance from it but a true hideaway. The hillside hotel grounds are so picturesque and a stunning background for a luxe hotel experience with many photo opportunities available as daily we found more and more reasons to take photos. We booked the garden view room which upon entering we knew we were in from a relaxing experience. The room was extremely spacious with an additional area outdoors to relax. This lead down a path to one of three pools. Each pool gave a different experience and we used all three at different times of the day. The cocktails poolside at all three were so refreshing. The Main Pool at Happy Hour also served as a great time to watch the sunset while relaxing on a day bed. The buffet breakfast was the biggest I’ve ever seen at any hotel and changed daily. I think the choice was so good that you just had to go up for seconds and some times thirds to try as much as possible. We had a Siam Spa Package which was definitely worth the price. The convenience of being on site plus the comfort of knowing the standard would be high we had a hassle free, extremely relaxing experience. The herbal bath soak to end was so beautiful and a perfect time to capture a stunning photo. The hotel staff were all so friendly and helpful and made Avista a location I would be more than happy to return to.

Great meal at Sizzle Restaurant, everything else was a miss

Let me start with the bad ones. Breakfast is not how other travellers had described, hotel tried to cater for everyone and pleased no one, it has one small outdoor balcony for breakfast but comes with smoking corner which ruined the experience, view is fantastic if you don't mind the mountain of rubbish pilling up at the land adjacent to the hotel. I'm writing this piece of review right after my first breakfast at the hotel, such is the disappointment. They served STALE crackers, how bad can it be? Cooking staff doesn't look local, probably Cambodian or Burmese, they struggle to understand what the guests want. Food selection is OK, for the same price point in other luxury hotel in the region, you did expect some wow but not here - coconut station isn't manned, cut fruits are not ripe (spoilt passion fruit was served to guests), we don't see hotel or restaurant manager doing the morning inspection at the breakfast. Hits and misses on the cleanliness and hygiene. It's mostly clean but there's occasional spots missed out here and there (this is where if the management takes a walk like how a guest does, he /she will be able to pick up the gaps). Not all is bad. Check in process was pleasant. Lobby is magnificent (design flaw makes it pretty warm and stuffy in the afternoon), food at Sizzle is amazing (top notch, worth spending at least a meal here). Rooms are OK... We stayed in room 1504. I can imagine how magnificent the view and room is during it's early days, unfortunately the view has been barricaded (with bad quality plaster board that has shown its age) for privacy as there's new hotel development opposite it. Signs of age throughout the villa, slding glass panel door with huge gaps in between it. I would recommend guests to not opt for this and stick to just the rooms (these looks good from the outside). The swimming pools, walkway and the exterior designs are amazing. Will I return? Very unlikely. It's my first stay with MGallery range in Thailand (I've stayed at a few in the region) but this does not meet the standard you did expect from MGallery. It's a good place with all the pools and designs of it but you can get better villa (AND BREAKFAST!!) for the same price point in other parts of Phuket.

This hotel is very good to service. Emmy is very kindly and friendly. She give us very good room and good location. Room in the hotel is very good and clean with the beautiful view. Restaurant is very yummy near the big pool. I recommend you come and stay.
