What a wonderful place, surrounded by countryside and on entering the grand foyer we were welcomed by Eve on Reception. The room met our expectations, modern, balcony overlooking gardens, TV with subtitles, comfy bed and clean. The dinner menu provided great choice and we didn't have to wait very long to be served. The breakfast was buffet style with a great choice for all tastes. We loved the spa with warm swimming pool, steam room and sauna. There was also a well fitted out gymnasium which we didn't use on this occasion. All in all, I would definitely recommend Walton Hall to anyone near and far.

Service is a shambles. Not enough staff and those who are in place are inadequately trained or experienced. Assume all down to poor management and process, the buildings and rooms are in need of care and attention. Food offering at the restaurant is pretty poor.

Had a lovely stay at walton hall . I had booked a Groupon stay standard double room with breakfast and 2 course evening dinner for two. Fantastic value . We arrived early afternoon unfortunately in storm darragh. The main hotel is lovely and modern we were geated by Harry he was happy friendly and very welcoming . The room we had was in the main building which was good as it was so windy and rainy . We had lunch and drinks in the bar . The bar & restaurant staff we also happy and friendly . The food was lovely . Our room was nice and modern large tv. We had a bath at which I was so happy about as we only have shower rooms at home . However when I came to take a bath the plug was missing . I informed harry at the desk and he was super quick in finding a plug. The bath happy days 😊 . We had our meal in the restaurant I don't know the last that served us but she was really lovely and explained the menu to us . The food again was nice and a good service . Breakfast again cannot fault it was a buffet with lots of variety and well laid out . Can't comment on the spa as we didn't use it . We went to look at the old hall wow fabulous building . Harry gave us a leaflet of the history of the estate . It's a facinating place. We had a fantastic stay and we will definitely return in better weather 😊 The staff were lovely and I think Harry is perhaps the happiest most welcoming receptionist I have come across a credit to the hotel excellent customer service.

The four stars are for the service, (the staff were all brisk and friendly) and the cleanliness of the room and other areas, (no complaints there). But it would be remiss of me not to mention the unique quality I found in this hotel: the sense of unalloyed, leaden despair that descended upon me the moment I stepped out of the car, and which clings to me now, even as I type this in the comfort of my own home. I am not of a gloomy temperament and certainly not inclined to superstition, but it felt as though some malign force was stalking the corridors, intent on tormenting the guests with a fearful sense of anxiety and foreboding. Perhaps it’s me. But before I arrived, I had nothing on my mind and am certainly not under any kind of stress at the moment. Yet that sense of unease I found in this hotel was quite unlike anything I’ve experienced before. And hopefully never will again.

2 stays this year, can’t wait for the next!

We stayed here in October and again in December. This place is so beautiful, the grounds are lovely as is the hall and the hotel. The staff are so friendly and you get an instant warm welcome from reception who go above and beyond to make sure you are informed and have everything you need. The room we stayed in on first visit was lovely and clean with a nice little balcony. The second time we had a privilege room which was just as nice with more space and a giant bed, it also had a mini fridge with complimentary cans of fizz and water, a kettle and a coffee machine and this room also had a balcony. I have no idea what these reviews are saying things are ‘grotty’ or ‘worn’. We didn’t experience any of this. If you’re expecting freshly laid carpets and not a single chip of paint I think you need to be a bit more realistic. We also used the pool sauna and steam which was well kept and clean. There are perhaps 10 loungers around the pool which were lovely. Pool was warm and good size. Sauna and steam also clean. We did not identify any hazards or issues in the pool area it was so lovely and relaxing. The changing rooms were also nice and clean. At no point are you cringing at dirt on the floor in your bare feet. The breakfast was 10/10. Only scrabbled egg put out but just ask if you want fried/poached they’re more than happy to accommodate. Full English, toast, cereals, fruits, cheese and meats, pastries, juices, hot drinks. We booked a package with diner the first time. The food was fine but not the best. Classic oven chips should definitely be upgraded to homemade. It is a shame that with the dinner package that most of the options require an additional surcharge. We decided to order a takeaway the second time which was really tasty from the local Indian. Overall this is a great place to stay and we will return for a 3rd time. You’ve got some great surrounding areas to spend the day in; Warwick, Stratford upon Avon and even Leamington spa kept us busy shopping.
