I had asked for a twin room ended up with 2 singles that were together making a double although the email stated a queen room. I had also asked for a disabled room did not happen my wife would not let me complain. The room was clean & tidy but as the top of the range I would not like to see the rooms in the IBIS budget. Food was great & to be honest the staff made it so friendly & helpful

Excellent for NEC

7 minutes walk from NEC, 10 mins from some bars and restaurants. Hotel was tired but ok, just needs a bit of a spruce up. Plenty of parking, would recommend. There was a few things going on, so I had to park in the overflow car park, but that was not a problem.

If you’re at an event at the nec this hotel is perfect. The hotel is spotless clean. Staff are polite and attentive. The restaurant was great too. They had a specials menu that changed daily. The food was freshly cooked too. Lots of on sight parking.

The staff were friendly and efficient, no issue with parking, booking in/out. Breakfast was fine, but a few things ran out and took some time to get refilled. I suspect this is a reflection of the staffing issues many places are presently feeling. MOst customers understood and food was made available relatively quickly after request to staff

Having stayed at the same hotel previously - both for personal as well as business reasons, I was not dissapointed on this occaision. The only "fly in the ointment" was the rather basic breakfast, a bit more hot choice would be good.

Prior to our stay we had noticed one or two reviews indicating that the hotel did not provide specific vegan breakfast options. We contacted the hotel in advance to inform them that 4 people would be requiring a vegan breakfast. On arrival the manager was present and promptly took action to ensure that our group would get a specially prepared cooked breakfast (which turned out to be quite substantial) on the two mornings of our stay. Whilst there was less choice for us we were extremely grateful that thought and consideration was given to our requirements. The message here is always ask in advance if you have special requirements. The rooms were clean and modern, our overall experience here was very good and all staff we spoke to were very helpful.

Nice, clean and friendly hotel with easy access to Airport and NEC. The hotel staff is very helpful and offers solutions for things you might need. Breakfast could be a bit more healthy, but everyone will find something to eat.

£10 GBP for a car overnight is criminal - which is full anyway (not all Hotel spots? are they just money making ?) also the room needs a Hoover - go behind beds and cupboards ? PLUS No minibar or ice machine in corridor for drinks ?

Very convenient hotel for NEC shows. Clean and comfortable but like ALL hotels better attention could be paid to the bathroom fixtures and fittings. Tiles on floor were mouldy and there was mucky residue around the taps etc. Carpet in bedroom had bleach spilt in front of the mirror and not dealt with, mirrors were dirty and all surfaces showed dirt when wiped with an anti bac cloth (standard for me to do in all hotels, together with door handles TV controls and switches etc.)

Most Ibis Styles hotels are quite 'groovy'..... I felt this missed out somehow. It was very cold in the restaurant, food was fairly indifferent and although the beds were comfortable, the pillows felt as if they were stuffed with sand. However the staff were excellent, very obliging and friendly.

Reception staff require urgent training

The Reception staff failed to tell me that the room key would wiped when I went into the NEC building, or kept it near my phone. Consequently I was locked out of my room and had to join the long queue at Reception to get a new key. The Receptionist was unapologetic and surly when I asked why she hadn’t warned me about the issue at the start. The initial check-in procedures are unnecessarily long, requiring guests to fill in paper forms with personal information that the hotel probably holds already (hopefully in a GDPR compliant manner). Finally, on check out the Receptionist failed to tell me the car park exit code. On the positive side, the restaurant staff were helpful, polite, and customer focused, the precise opposite to the Reception staff. The price charged was poor value as the rooms are ill equipped e.g. no hairdryer or mini fridge, and the food is low quality/high price. I will be looking for another hotel for my next NEC trip.

Hotel good value for money, but did not like car park charge. Breakfast not good quality food with scrambled eggs sat in water. Location to NEC excellent. Room spotless and extremely quiet. Bed very comfortable .would stay again but would avoid breakfast.

Wrong room allocation, dirty shower, disengaged unfriendly service from evening reception staff when it was reported and no resolution offered. Extremely poor quality and uncomfortable bed and pillows, therefore little sleep. Power sockets in headboard did not work but only discovered when going to bed and no vegetarian option for breakfast when requested.

Good hotel, clean, within easy reach of the NEC but also had Resort World close by for extra shopping. Really near the airport so very convenient for travellers, rooms and restaurant confortable, good food and mostly great staff who were really helpful.

While the hotel staff were very helpful, they rang me up when it was getting late to ensure I was still arriving, one lady helped us with an issue of the sanitary dispensers not working. The overall thing that stayed with us was the fact that the central heating in the ground floor disabled room we were given was not heated. The room had two large windows facing the car park outside, which did nothing to keep the heat escaping and the room becoming freezing, the hall outside our room door was warmer than the room itself. The staff didn't know how to work the central heating and there was no maintenance on weekends which is ridiculous as this is more likely when hotels have their busiest peeks.

Friendly helpful staff - ideally situated for the Genting arena where we went to a concert and also for the train into Birmingham for the German Christmas Market - room was ideal for what we needed and plenty of staff around at breakfast to help out. would definitely stay again

A few minor niggles and one big one

Generally very good, great welcome and good all round service and standards, friendly and helpful staff, but the little things are the bugbears.My second stay in two weeks, for a hotel with apparently new shower rooms there seems to be a problem with the grout in the shower floor, both rooms 226 & 131 had lumps missing, if this is simply a cosmetic top layer over the old it is unsightly if it is full depth there seems to be something more seriously wrong with the work.I do wish the housekeeping staff (and this seems to apply to all Ibis hotels) could be trained to not swap towels routinely - not green and not in keeping with the stated ethos also use the staff as intelligence, the basin in 131 took about a week to drain, they should be passing things like this on - it should then be acted on.The major one - the restaurant staff - I acknowledge the place was rammed but -- on the Friday, I waited for about 30 mins to get offered a menu, the staff seem to mill around aimlessly near the bar a fair portion of the time and when they leave there, never get beyond half way up the restaurant, as I and several others in the booths furthest from the bar found out - we were feeling - shall I say neglected. Don't get me wrong great food and well prepared. I asked one waitress for a sweet menu - "Yes certainly sir" - 25 minutes later, I nabbed one from another table.- Saturday was similar till two waitresses I had not seen before appeared, Eve or Eva I think and a colleague - obviously much more highly trained and tuned in - they went through the place like two whirlwinds, always smiling, catching diners eye looking round the room to see who was trying to catch their eye - and actually finishing what they started, I asked Eve for a second glass of wine, within two minutes it was delivered by a colleague,night and day to the others.So in general a great stay - sort out the minor maintenance irks, save the planet with not doing unnecessary laundry and sharpen up the bar/waiting staff or sort out their customer awareness skills / increase numbers maybe when fully booked.This is a great hotel in a prime location with virtually captive dining audience, I for one wouldn't bother with the chains in resort world, or the walk to get there, make the best of it.Don't let me put you off - go and enjoy - you will - especially if the restaurant is a bit quieter.
