As would be expected from a Mercure hotel

Comfortable room and bed. It was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was adequate and tasty for me. I had no issue with the stay in this hotel. The way to the nearest MRT station was a bit confusing to me - more so, I believe, because of the heavy rain. As part of the walk to the MRT station was through open space, I was drenched by the rain because I was rushing for time. I could not afford to wait for the rain to stop. Anyway, that is not the problem with the hotel. Just that I should have allocated more time for the journey. If not because of the rain, the Bugis MRT should be accessible much more easily.

Come for the hotel, stay for the service

I haven't even checked out yet but feel compelled to write a review. First, let me say the hotel itself is lovely. Beautifully appointed with a quirky mix of modern art and whimsical vintage luxe, and a pool with a view that let's you appreciate the Singapore skyline while escaping the heat of the day. While others have commented that the rooms are small, we are staying in a loft room that comfortably fits me, my 6'3" husband, and our 7 year old daughter (along with the masses of luggage we brought). I wonder if previous commenter's haven't embraced what the city has to offer and spent too much time in their room. Yes, when you look closely you can see a little wear, but that's to be expected from a hotel as busy as this is (I say busy, but we never felt overwhelmed by too many other guests or their noise). What this hotel excels at is service. We booked after escaping a disastrous first night at a neighboring hotel and desperately needed to restart our holiday. Lovely Joey at reception gave us a great price and even arranged an early check-in so we could get settled and de-stress. From that moment the team have been courteous, obliging, and generous with smiles and hellos. No request (and we made a few - sorry housekeeping!) was an issue and we were made to feel very welcome. Joey picked up from our very brief chat a good hour or so before we even booked that it was our anniversary and, when we returned from our afternoon dip in the pool, a celebratory dessert was waiting in our room. Yes, the location is central to the CBD and MRT, and across the road from food stalls, shopping, and heritage, and yes it is comfortable and excellent value for money. What I would return for however is the service, and I thank everyone who has been working through our stay for making it such a great (re)start to our Asian adventure.

Rooms too tiny for us

This hotel is very nice from the outside and when you walk into the lobby. I came with my husband on a business trip. He booked the loft bedroom and was very excited about it. However, once we got there, it felt like we were in a college dorm room. We were supposed to be staying there for over a week however there is no way he could’ve stayed there in that tiny room. My husband is 6’3. Once we bought all of our luggage into the room and then we were in there, it was no room to move around. And to top it off, our bed/mattress was on the floor in the upper loft area. There was no room to walk around the mattress on the floor. Falling down the stairs is something that is very possible if you get up in the middle of the night in the dark for the bathroom which is downstairs. We stayed one night there in a slightly larger room, courtesy of the staff who was very accommodating. But that was all we could do. The rest of the hotel was very nice, including the buffet meal that came with our upgraded room. However, we decided to leave and go to another hotel near by with larger more comfortable room situation.

Nice reasonably priced hotel close to everything. Rooms are good for those who juts want a place to sleep and spend most of the day exploring. Great infinity pool on Level 7 and a place to chill on the roof. Great breakfast although always busy. Friendly front and back of house staff. Close to Bugis Mall and Bugis Junction plus nearby markets.
