Coming to Bridgwater was a spontaneous decision, and we quickly searched online for dog-friendly accommodations. This trip marked my first hotel stay with Darla, who was just four months old and definitely not a small dog! I had no idea what to expect, but our experience exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, and the check-out process was quick and efficient. I was impressed with the quality of the room, and before we left, we were delighted to receive a lovely bag of dog treats for Darla. Later, when I spoke with the wonderful receptionist about our journey home, she kindly gave us a couple more bags of treats to keep Darla entertained during the drive. The only minor downside was that we had to eat breakfast in the main entrance. However, given the hygiene considerations of having a dog, I completely understand that this is likely standard practice. Overall, we will definitely be returning! Thank you for making our first experience traveling with my dog such a memorable one.

La chambre était très petite pour le prix Et le robinet de douche cassé. Pas possible d'avoir un espace de travail sans payer un montant excessif. Pas fait pour les voyages d'affaires.

Exceptional Restaurant Team!

Back in July I stayed with my family for a wedding. And wanted to do a big shout to the restaurant team especially Josh, Abbey and Ashley. The restaurant manager he couldn't have been more accommodating. We had booked a meal but last minute needed to add additional guests so ended up being around 10 of us. They done there best to get us seated together and looked after us so well. The high level of service continued into the bar after the food. Thank you all so much. We will all remember the night before the wedding being well taken care of by your restaurant team. Big shout to the restaurant supervisor. July 26th 2024.

Tired round the edges

The second stay here in a year and location and staff cannot be better, particularly if you are in town for carnival. Parking is good and there are even EV charges, which is rare in some hotels. Check in was efficient and friendly but our room, overlooking the carnival route, smelt of stale tobacco, fish and chips and rank air. We asked reception if someone could sort this, but no one came and despite asking for the room to be serviced the day before we still had to ask again. We didn’t get bins emptied or towels changed as requested. Furniture was tired and needed replacing, particularly the bucket seat that had an odd cushion that didn’t fit, making it uncomfortable to sit on. It was only when we were leaving and checking the room that we found a full pouch of tobacco under the cushion - was this where the smell was from? This was a vile thing to find: had people been smoking here? Breakfast was chaotic on the Saturday due to large numbers, only two staff and only one very slow and ancient coffee machine. The queue was long and staff refused to bring tea or coffee to the table, which they happily did the next morning. The fried eggs were solid, greasy and cold and whilst the cook agreed to make scrambled or poached eggs for a few, she stopped and shouted “no more scramble or poached eggs” , so no more eggs were cooked! Only two staff were on duty both mornings which is ridiculous for a full hotel on carnival weekend. At £580+ for two nights I feel the service, the cleanliness of the rooms and the breakfast were a joke.

Excellent overnight stay - The room was comfortable and well equipped with add on available on request. The reception staff were friendly and helpful on each occasion we dealt with them. The food and service in the restaurant was first class and we were lucky to be looked after by a young waitress who was genuinely friendly and personable.
