Great value hotel, not far from central Cardiff. Great facilities, rooms very spacious with nice decor. Restaurant was serving hot food and table service was great, especially from our waiter Panchi who was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Reception area seemed a little strange, no the usual but staff friendly.

Nice bed, comfortable. Room was badly lit and the only really usable mirror was in the bathroom, yards away from any power points. The lock on the door was almost unusable and had been forced open before as the damaged door frame showed. The extractor fan in the bathroom made it hard to hold a conversation in the room. This was all reported to reception in person,( nobody answered the phone)but the receptionist could not understand English and nothing at all was done about any of the issues. Breakfast was slow and pretty much tasteless, choices were limited and poorly cooked eggs, hard , watery. Gave up waiting for some items. Rubbish really. All in all really poor show all around.

Not a bad hotel. But rooms are dusty, drain are blocked, shower trays like pools Exceptional services by restaurant staff especially Panchi, Kamal. Food takes longer than normal(an hour). Salmon is too expensive for the size get given for dinner.

Great Location and Comfortable Stay Stayed at Mercure Cardiff and enjoyed the central location, perfect for exploring the city. The room was clean, modern, and cozy, though a bit noisy at times. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast had a good variety of options. Overall, a pleasant experience!

Not a very warm friendly welcome

We arrived on Friday afternoon, and weee surprised to find a work desk as we walked through the door instead of a proper reception. We didn't get the warmest or friendliest of welcomes by the lady stood there sadly. She barely looked up at first, then we were given our key but no information about where anything was in the hotel and information about breakfast. The room was ok, stains on the carpet but otherwise clean and roomy. No wardrobe surprisingly. The food at breakfast was fine, but waited a while to be seated, no staff, so gave up and sat ourselves down. Two members of staff on duty, one of which was very polite and helpful. To be honest it was a very disappointing experience for a 4 star hotel. We have had far far warmer welcomes and experiences at Premier Inns
