Hotel was very clean and rooms were smart and comfortable, ideally located for trainstation and local restaurants and bars.

We stay 2 night in,personel very nice,public transport just few min from hotel,spar shop 1min from hotel,room was small but very clean, view from our room was car on car park but didnt bother us,one - cant connect phone to tv,or watch netflix, etc.Still can gi e 5 stars .

1. Email from Mercure instructed me to complete online check in so that i can just scan my qr when arrive. I did as per instructions which took me good 10 minutes online in hope for smooth check in process. But when i arrived, the receptionist prohibited me from using the self check in kiosk and i had to wait for her to check in normally - plain stupid isn’t it? 2. I requested for high floor/ best view - but was given room 101 which faces the entrance of the hotel. People walk in front of the hotel can see me in my room like im in a zoo. 3. Air-conditioner malfunction on both nights. Was provided with the portable heater but the hassles and the inconveniences zzzz. 4. Elevator did not work. People queued in front of the lift as there is no signage about its malfunction. Staff in the lobby didnt bother to communicate till we had to ask whats wrong with the lift. Then only the staff said its broken. What in the world… 5. The room itself has low ceiling height, water heater thats very hard to control, and many more other of inconveniences.

Just poor.

Incredibly glitchy "online check-in" and communications system. Kept giving me errors, telling me to contact the hotel. Hotel staff were less than helpful, told me it was "something you did" as to why the system wasn't working correctly. Not a great start. Hotel uses old "put key in slot in room to turn on power". This meant that my room which had clearly not been occupied in days had no heating in 0°C weather in January in Amsterdam and was like an icebox when I walked in. Took 12 hours of heating on full to make the room warm enough to be comfortable. You might be saving yourself money by not heating empty rooms, but you should find someway to heat them up before occupancy.
