We stayed one night after a river cruise and had a large enough room facing the interior courtyard. The room was quiet but the bed mattress was at the end of its life. Lighting for reading was only at the bed. The bathroom was large and convenient and the location close to Dam was fine but a ten minute walk from the tram stop. Service was fine but the room was only available at the check in time, which did not affect us because we scheduled a train trip for the day.

I’ve had a really wonderful stay at this hotel. The check in with Phillipo and Lea was seamless and Phillipo quickly organised tickets for me to the Van Gogh museum which was super kind and helpful. Lea has been amazing spoiling me and ensuring my stay has been perfect which it has. The room very comfortable the bed so cosy, everywhere spotless. Staff are very skilled at being there for you. I had a beautiful meal in their restaurant, again staff skilled kind, hard working and attentive. This is the third time in three years I’m in Amsterdam but my first stay at this hotel. I will 100% be back hopefully they will have space for me next year.

We staying 4 nights with our 2 kids in a Prestige Suite that connected to a Luxury Room to create a very spacious 2 bedroom suite. There was more than enough room for the 4 of us. The room was in good repair, housekeeping was invisible and timed perfectly and they did a great job. We ate breakfast eat morning in the restaurant which had a modest buffet with hot menu to order off of, we also had lunch on property twice. The fries at lunch were amazing and the best we had in Brussels and Amsterdam. The service at lunch and breakfast was sometimes a little inattentive but this was a minor issue. Check-in and check-out were quick, seamless and well organized with never any wait. The concierge was very helpful organizing and modifying our dinner restaurant reservations. The location of the hotel was good and we were able to walk everywhere. I would recommend this property.

This was not my first time visiting The Grand Amsterdam, over the past 10 years I have visited every other year. The location is fantastic and convenient to everything we wanted to see. If you are there around 11AM when they have a walking tour of the property, please consider taking the tour. The hotel is full of history and this quick walking tour gives a fantastic understanding of the significance of the buildings. The rooms are comfortable and updated, and since we use a travel advisor who belongs to the Virtuoso network we are always treated with special perks and amenities.
