Everything was so good till the hot water didn’t work properly for the shower

The hotel is located on the a private cape and away from the center of the island. The view is totally MAGNIFICENT!!!! Spacious room + balcony...Great quality pillows...Panoramic saltwater pool...those are already somethings rarely special for a Novotel price range. We really wanted to relax and unwind so this was the perfect hotel for us. The Reservation Manager was very professional and helpful when we made our booking. The Front office team at the hotel was very courteous and attentive. However, we were not very impressed by the F&B staff. They were obviously not knowledgeable of the Accor loyalty programs and we were given wrong information twice about our entitled discount and benefits. Apparently a training is needed. Breakfast choices are rather limited, which is understandable for the island side but NO selections of eggs??? (A really big surprise) They instead only offered "Kai Krata" and the one we received was awfully overcooked. We also ordered the "Pork Blood" soup with no pork blood and we were still presented with gigantic cubes of pork blood in the bowls :D The A la Carte menu is also very limited and shockingly overpriced for us. Anyway, we still ordered something for dinner and the food quality was good. Hefty and presentable portion. The Shrimp Cocktail salad was very delicious. Overall, it was still a great value for money with the View they have. But it would need more than a great view to bring us back.
Could be do much nicer without their ridiculous arrogance….

The hotel itself is very nice and new. Gorgeous place, ruined by incompetent management l It could be so much nicer if accor would take much care selecting its management.Reception Staff unbelievably unfriendly and even a more arrogant ,absolutely unflexible and unfriendly GM make it a not-so-nice experience. Can you believe they tell you in your face there are only 1 category upgrades for any tier on accor? How far from reality you get to live coming up even with lies . In all accor. Hotels in Thailand I got my normal upgrades to a suite. Not in this one. You know you are in a bad place when they treat Accor Top Tier like cattle. This is a place where you get nickel-and dimed on everything. If they could they’d charge you for wifi . The hotel itself is new and well-maintained, the lounge has nice food, the f/b staff really nice and accommodating (put these ones at the reception,change the GM) . Berating a luxury traveler hiw top tiers are treated? After 2000 stays in accor properties alone ? Views are really panoramic and great. This could be a 5 star place without the aforementioned issues. A pity people can’t see over their petty little rules and mediocre lives in a crumbling economy with less and less frequent travelers. I won’t ever come back(don’t thank me) to this one. On my way to Bangkok to a Sofitel where I got actually already a city view suite ,probably 10 categories upgrade without fighting with bureaucratic apparatchiks…lol … just pathetic. Good riddance. A pity …

We don't often receive poor service in Thailand, but the Novotel excels even against this high standard. It's a four star hotel but sometimes felt like five star service, as it felt like all the staff were trying to anticipate our needs and be as helpful as possible. I was already pleased about this when they noticed our rental car had a flat tyre and offered to arrange a repair. This is an example of where the staff are paying attention as we hadn't even given the number plate, and they just approached us when we came down for breakfast. We ended up using the rental company's preferred supplier but very much appreciate the offer. Aside from that, it's a very modern hotel right in the heart of the city. It didn't feel huge, I think it has a small footprint but 25 floors including a roof bar (nice cocktails and mocktails). I expect it is mostly used for business but there's still a pool and a kids play room, along with a desk, USB sockets, very fast WiFi and universal mains plugs. One aspect is a bit too modern - the bathroom is open plan, with one-way glass for privacy and sliding panels. Hint: one way glass only works if it's lighter outside, so using the toilet at night there's no way to completely prevent light getting into the room even with both panels shut (as the light in the shower comes on with the toilet light, and the panel can't cover both). For a solo business traveller it would mean I could do my business while admiring the sea view through the huge window, but for couples (and with a baby) it's inconvenient. It might make the designer cry, but a pull down blind would fix this. The room is a good size and excellent value for money. Big bed and cot provided. Very nice breakfast buffet, about right for a 4* hotel. The other food and drinks are also good, but poor to average value costing far above local rates. This is to be expected in a hotel like this, so I'm not dropping a star, but do consider this in your budget. It is mitigated by the fact that some amazing street food/small restaurants are available just outside (my wife used to live in Si Racha and one of her favourites is just here) and by the exceptional service. Even while the hotel laundry service is characteristically expensive, they provided a number for a nearby shop that will collect and return to the hotel for 5-10 THB per item. There are many Japanese clients in Si Racha so the hotel is presumably catering to their language as well as being able to use good English (and put up with my attempt at speaking Thai). There are other reasonably good hotels in the area, but I'm fairly sure this will be our default choice from now on.
