Great location with outstanding views of Darling Harbour. We stayed on the 20 floor premium suite and it was breathtaking views. Staff are very friendly and smiling. A walk out the front and there’s restaurants surrounding you. Walk across the road and board tram which takes you into city and to circular quay to see The bridge and opera house. It’s just a tap on tap off service easy as. There you can caught a ferry across to Manly or even go to Taronga Zoo. Did a clear view glass boat dinner cruise which I would recommend. The lights are just beautiful.

I wish I could give a 4.5* as realistically that would be more like it! The hotel is beautiful and a very good location for Darling Harbour. It’s been a few years since I have stayed in that area and didn’t realise the harbour front was being that redeveloped! It was Easter week so the building sites were silent…but check other reviews for noise. Pool - was great in the early afternoon with a couple of quiet drinks. This time of year it gets cool and windy around 4pm. Downside is if it’s a weekend with throngs of families, the sun beds are pretty close to the pool out of necessity…and kids do like to splash. Rooms - well designed and stylish. A couple of minor things which when requested by housekeeping were quickly rectified Eg: no shampoo, extra non-decaf pods - which is all anybody can ask. Big towels, reasonably priced mini-bar. My gripe was the that air-con went into economy mode at night even when set to the lowest temperature…and ask what any peri- menopausal woman thinks about that. I got HOT! Sorry - I stole the room pen! It was pure quality! Staff - not a lot of interaction in our stay…but couldn’t fault them! The lobby bar staff were excellent and accommodating. Super friendly and generous. I find that staying 5* the staff can be a little cold if you don’t “look” the part. We were straight off a surf session at the beach, could have crawled through rose-bushes backwards…but they were just delightful. That is the mark of great staff because you actually never know who you might be speaking with and they still treat the sweaty beasts exceptionally! Food - unable to comment as we didn’t dine there however definitely recommend Braza Brazilian for a meat experience - with that and so many more restaurants within a 5 minute walk away! Overall - a quality property and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend….and even more importantly, stay again!

Have been to Sydney many years ago and never got the explore the Darling Harbour side. I arrived at the hotel with the French ‘Bonjour” greeting which was a nice touch. My room was very clean and had a lovely view of the harbour. The staff I encountered were extremely friendly and helpful especially James from Concierge Desk. I will be back and look forward to seeing the area once the Harbourfront development is complete

Pleasant stay in Darling Harbour

I booked a corner room on a high floor with a Darling Harbour View. Great spot for watching the fireworks. The room was vey comfortable. The only minor irritations were the wardrobe doors would not say shut, which sometimes meant the light came on in the middle of the night, and the blinds (which there are a lot of) were all chain operated. Didn’t book a breakfast rate, but had several pool side lunches. The servers at Rivage were great, super friendly but not unprofessionally so. The pool is great, worth noting the loungers are not the paddy type shown on the Hotel website, but they are comfy enough. I had a meal at Atelier (the French restaurant) using my Accor Plus discount. Very enjoyable, and the service was spot on. I also had room service on the night I arrived which was ok, but it took a while to arrive. The hotel is well placed for venturing out to eat, I tried a few waterfront places as well as the Medusa Greek Tavern a couple of blocks back. Darling Harbour is nice to walk around, and there is always something going on, like Salsa on Friday nights. There is construction right by the hotel but with good earplugs I could sleep through it, and managed to zone it out when at the pool. Overall a good stay, staff rate highly, great quality beds and linens, pillow menu, great location, slightly $$$ but there are cheaper rooms and occasional Offers.

We advised the hotel we would likely be arriving at 2pm (check in is at 3pm). I didn’t hear anything from the hotel so assumed our room wouldn’t be ready any earlier. I arrived at 3pm only to be told our room was not ready yet. My husband and I were travelling with our 6 month old who desperately needed a nap. They gave us two drink vouchers - which were already included with our Accor status, and told us we could wait in the lounge. Our room was not ready until 4:15pm, despite the 3pm guaranteed check in advertised by the hotel. I asked for late check out to make up for this and we were only given an extra hour, which is also already included with our Accor status. The man I spoke to the following morning was extremely unhelpful and lacked empathy. Pretty disappointed with this as we paid $800 for one night (a Sunday night, I might add) and couldn’t even check in on time. We were not offered anything else to make up for this. In addition to this, there is construction happening right next to the hotel, and directly in front of the pool. It was not serene or enjoyable to sit by the pool. Don’t think we will be returning.
