Mercure North Melbourne 4 sterren

As an Accor Member I always try to stay at Accor family properties. Mercure North Melbourne was an easy choice as I had appointments close by on the Monday morning. Upon check in we paid $25 for secure parking and were provided with a token to raise the boom gate should we need to move the car from that car park. Overnight it seems the boom gate was not lowered meaning cars could come and go as they please. Sadly in the early hours of the Monday morning a car entered and our rear canopy on my 4 x 4 was smashed causing significant $ damage plus inconvenience. All management could say is that you park at your own risk. To them it did not matter that they had not secured the gate, nothing!!! They openly admitted it was not down as per hotel policy. I have been open in my dealing with them only to be totally stonewalled. I’m not really into bad reviews but this time it’s needed!! Extremely sad outcome. They will lose an Accor member and I certainly will not recommend them to anyone. Stay clear if you think you are paying for something you are not getting!!!

Friendly staff. Close to hospitals and Park. Entry door secured overnight. Clean but old rooms. Comfy bed and good aircon. Mini fridge and tea and coffee making supplies. Good for quick overnight stay when visiting hospital nearby. Didn’t have breakfast but looked good when I ordered takeaway coffee.

Terrible hotel for price. Location is convenient as it is near RMH however the rooms are disgraceful. Floor in shower was terribly cracked and peeling. When I complained the person on the desk wanted to see the room. I showed him and he said it was all ok to him and he would move me. Thank goodness for the manager who then was able to move me. It is old and run down. Needs a good upgrade to be able to keep charging these prices for sub standard rooms. Couldn't see out of the dirty windows for big spider webs (not sure where the spiders were hiding!) We were locked out of our room as the key was only valid for one day instead of 3. Not good when you have a patient waiting to recover in the room as you line up 4 deep with only one person on the desk serving. Will definitely not be staying again. Disappointing

It’s clean but tired, such a shame as the location is good as is access in and out of the city and parking. Had dinner in the restaurant, they managed to serve us 3 vodka’s but then ran out! Most disappointed at breakfast time, I had paid and added this at the time of booking - No mention anywhere that they stop serving at 9am (apparently a new thing they decided to do but nothing is updated to reflect this change).

Ik gebruikte dit hotel vanwege de nabijheid van Melbourne Uni. Foyer en personeel OK. De kamers hebben bevlekte vloerbedekking, vliegen schermen vallen van de ramen. Grootste probleem was het lawaai - sissend ventilatiesysteem de hele nacht. Geprijsd voor de foyer - niet de kamer.
