A beautiful hotel with great friendly staff. Particular mention to Roy ( hope I have remembered his name right) at reception who even managed to upgrade us to a studio room when I mentioned we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We arrived early because I wanted to experience the Yakitori Sunday session at rooftop bar HiSo and that didn’t disappoint - fantastic views out over the harbour and very tasty nibbles cooked on the grill, not to mention the cocktails! Once our room was ready we were escorted up - with our one carry on bag - shown around and given a recycled water bottle which we could keep as a souvenir. The room itself was lovely - a big comfortable bed, free standing bath tub and a sliding glass door to close off the walk in shower and the toilet. There was a free mini bar in the fridge with a few nibbles too, just to fill the gaps before dinner. Dinner at Harbour Society was very good and the servers were pleasant - they may have been a bit understaffed though as we had to wait occasionally. The duck was excellent - don’t miss trying that. Breakfast was buffet style with eggs cooked on demand and delivered to the table - my husband really enjoyed his omelette. And that was our stay - the only disappointing thing was that we were only there for one night, but we will be back!

I’m a diamond member but booking through my work I didn’t get any points etc. but the hotel did recognise the Accor status and gave me a really awesome upgrade to a suite room and access to the lounge etc. This is my 2nd time at this hotel and I really love it. It’s very clean, modern and the staff are friendly and attentive. The lounge has a big space up the stairs also where you can sit outside which is nice when the weather is good. The restaurant is my favourite for breakfast especially as even sitting alone you can really enjoy some spectacular views over Auckland harbour. I enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice and the chef made a really great omelette. I’d want to stay here again when going back to Auckland and recommend it to business travellers as well as couples and families.

Thanks for an excellent stay. Very nice hotel, with views of Waitemata Harbour. Check-in was quick thanks to Aditya who was very polite. Nice pool and spa. After a few hours at SO/ Auckland hotel I was very impressed and decided to extend my stay. Will stay here again the next time I'm in Auckland. Thanks again for a great stay. Aditya and his staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Look forward to staying at SO/ Auckland on my next trip to NZ.

The Harbour Society was delicious! Amazing food, I recommend the duck! And the service we got from Chiara was phenominal! She looked after us, made us feel welcome and comfortable. She made extrae sure our allegy needs were met so we had a stress free and wonderful meal.
