I spoke with a guy at reception to pass on some feedback or a request. Our Airline has multiple crew staying there most nights if the week. Other hotels provided a crew menu so it’s not so expensive for crew to eat at the hotel when we have limited options. My suggestion was possible happy hour (24/7 for crew within normal operating hours of the bar) where no matter what time we check in (as long as bar is open) we are able to purchase drinks at discounted prices for example some hotels charge us $7 a glass of wine during this period. I’m understanding currently we get 10% Also a dedicated crew menu with cheaper items

The room allocated was clean with all the standard items e.g. tea, coffee, etc. Only two issues: 1. There is no light at the desk so working at the desk is impossible 2. The sound of toilet flushing & water tank refilling, despite the sound is low in volume, it is very noticeable in the middle of the night. Suggestion: 1. resolve the above issues 2. provide additional toiletries e.g. toothpaste & toothbrush or make aware guests can request for them 3. sign to the gym The food is acceptable standard. Large. The staff are friendly.

Overall I'm happy with my recent experiences at Mercure Newcastle airport hotel. This time the room location was quite noisy which didn't allow us to settle easily to get to sleep for an early wake up. Noisy neighbors.
