One night stay

Stayed for one night for work. I was slightly dubious about the stay after reading the reviews but was pleasantly surprised. The room was small but comfortable and looked recently renovated, the bathroom did need updating but had everything you needed. There were a few bits that need updating and the triple glazing in the room needed some attention but nothing game changing. Would likely stay again.

Very good central location .car park spaces too small. Corridor from car park to hotel reception unwelcoming and like a boiler room with a couple of plants. Large bar area hopelessly inadequately stocked. Very limited bar snacks. Restaurant which is advertised on website is only in use when there are tours etc apparently. Bar food unavailable on 2nd night. Hotel decor is quite "tired". Hotel room (318) is compact but with very high ceilings. Rooms very dark with totally inadequate lighting. Clean and comfy but drasticslly in need of new carpets an redecorating....No air con but a fan available left in single wardrobe. No drawers in room. Breakfast very good value. Excellent selection. Not what I would ever consider to be a 4 star hotel.more like a 2 to 3 at best......

Thank you so much Maria especially. But also Nikki and Nigel, Oliver and Grace, Vince and Kane and the rest of the staff too We stayed in 2024. Loves it. Came back and we have been 2 happy Aussies! Troubleshooter, Happy, Floss, Manuel, Tim and Mini were awesome lol

Good central location

Hotel is in a good location right in the middle of town. It is a big hotel and a bit of a maze but if you follow the signs and directions given at check in then you should be fine. Rooms were ok, reasonable size and clean, fine for the price and we didnt spend much time in them, it was very warm but you were given a fan and could open the window, only thing was there were lots of pigeons outside the window. Breakfast was nice and had a good choice and staff were helpful when we asked for eggs cooked different way. Hotel carpark is tiny and very tight spaces, i wouldnt bother and would use the shopping centre carpark which is just opposite, it only cost £6 to park from Fri night to sun morning however note it closes at 7pm-7am and the barriers come down so you cant get in or out even on foot!

There are worse places to stay than this place BUT that doesn’t mean that it is without its faults. Positives: Easy to find, staff were pleasant enough, excellent showers and the breakfast, while buffet style was cooked to an excellent standard. Negatives: Bring earplugs if you’re staying on a weekend night because the rooms are anything but noise proof. They’re also very warm and although there was a fan provided, it didn’t do much. Also a funny smell coming from the room. Couldn’t tell what it was and the curtains looked dirty too. From a personal standpoint, I didn’t sleep well as the pillows were paper thin but that’s a personal preference. I won’t slate the hotel and would stay again if there were no other options but this place is in need of a thorough upgrade. It’s fine if you just need somewhere to sleep in. No complaints from us really but we can’t heap tonnes of praise on it either!
