Nothing bad to say about our stay here. The housekeeping team have been great and very attentive, all the staff here have been pleasant. We visited the gym a few times, it’s a small room but we appreciate having some gym equipment to utilise. The location of this hotel is definitely the selling point, it has convenience stores and restaurants within walking distance. The only thing I would change is the smell in the lobby, it’s very very overpowering. However, I do have a sensitive sensory system. Overall, I’m glad I stayed here.

Very central location. Upgraded to a corner room with a lovely view via floor to ceiling windows thanks to Accor membership. Simple room but clean with everything you need. Lovely reception staff. Friendly and professional. Great choice if you need a simple, clean and comfortable room at good value in central Brisbane. Stayed here as needed to attend a training for work in Brisbane area.

Super convenient hotel in the heart of Brisbane cbd. Really close to a large mall that has supermarkets and food outlets. There is a lot of food available nearby aswell. The rooms are spacious and we got checked in asap as we arrived. We were also very kindly upgraded for free to a Riverview king room. Aupwr clean and tide.

Ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street: Great Location, Questionable Décor

There are worse places to stay in Brisbane, no doubt about that, but the Ibis Styles on Elizabeth Street is one of those joints that really makes you wonder what the hell they were thinking. The location’s the obvious drawcard, right in the thick of the CBD, close to the river, the Botanic Gardens, restaurants everywhere, and everything you need within walking distance. So far, so good. But then you get out of the lift on level 7, and suddenly it’s like you’ve stumbled into some psychedelic daycare experiment gone completely off the rails. Pink doors as far as the eye can see, a carpet that looks like someone lost a bet at the carpet factory, and this weird, forced fun vibe that makes you feel like you’re in on a joke you didn’t agree to. The rooms aren’t much better. Small, real small. The bathroom’s basically an upright coffin with plumbing. If you’re travelling solo, you’ll manage, if there’s two of you, you’d want to be pretty comfortable with each other. The desk exists, barely, the Wi-Fi works, the aircon keeps the Queensland heat off your back, but that’s about as far as the luxury goes. Still, credit where it’s due, this place is all about location. You’re not here to lounge around the room like royalty, you’re here to dump your bag, get out into Brisbane, eat something decent, have a drink or three, maybe walk it off by the river, maybe not. If that’s your plan, it’ll do the trick. Just don’t expect charm, or style, or really anything other than four walls and a bed.
