The Sofitel Brisbane misses the boat when it comes to delivering on the five star promise of comfort and service. My first task after checking in was to call reception to get someone to clean the greasy handprints that obscured the view from our window, The hotel is luxurious, the rooms reflect this. The bathrooms are dated, cramped and lack any form of soundproofing. We had a turndown service on one night, but not the other two. Inconsistency is a bit of a byword for the Sofitel Brisbane to be honest. These are no notepads or pens, there are no spare pillows. The coffee and tea sachets and bags used on day one were never replaced. The Club Millesme was oversubscribed. Seats were hard to come by and the canapes were lacking in imagination. Offer a little amuse bouche, you are a French brand for heaven's sake. Dinner was the catasrophe that eclipsed all else, Two people in our party were turned away for wearing inappropriate footwear. When they returned in fancy shoes, I pointed out two thong wearers in white t-shirts. Fifty minutes after we ordered, my eagle eye spotted a closed kitchen. Our order was "lost" by all accounts. The no doubt grumpy chef returned to turn out a magnificent steak accompanied by fossilised chips that were inedible. Add a sold out spa, that closed at 3pm because they had no bookings and it all adds up to a mismanaged property of great potential. We were left genuinely disappointed.

Strategic location if you need convenient. Nice room with beautiful view. Comfy bed, but pillow too soft. Old wall plug with Aussie sockets, expected most hotel to have international sockets ready especially for Sofitel brand. Breakfast was fantastic. Great staffs to ensure smooth experience. Hopefully toilet will have bidet in future.

我提前抵达，未到入住时间，但还是有空房给我checkin，但没想到入住后，才发现浴室完全没打扫，垃圾也没倒。致电前台后，马上被安排升级房间，但需要等一下。等待的时候，大堂酒吧免费喝饮料。我觉得已经很贴心了，没想到还赠送了我第二天的早餐。不愧是好酒店，服务很到位，这样的举动会让我以后在全球都会第一选择索菲特。

I've had better experiences at 3 star hotels - will never return again

Stayed at the Sofitel Brisbane Central from 13 to 15 November and while the concierge staff were fantastic, I felt I was discriminated against in the lounge and bar. Only given canapes when I requested for them 30 mins later, whilst everyone else around me was being offered. Waited 32 mins for a cocktail to be made in the bar whilst the bar was empty and had no explanation for the wait. Lodged a formal complaint with the hotel on 20 November. Received a phone call at 7am on a weekend - 9 days later - to discuss further. I returned the call on Monday and have no reply since.

I found the sofitel so convenient. It is directly connected to central station, so the airport train can be accessed without having to go outside with heavy luggage. The rooms are comfortable but the bathroom needs a walk in shower not a tub with a shower above it. The beds were great but I hate feather pillows. Couldn't find any reference to a pillow menu. Breakfast was amazing and every member of staff was friendly, welcoming and professional. They made our stay comfortable and easy. The lifts were fast and they all were operational at the same time, so the wait time was short. The most important thing was my daughter and I enjoyed our time there and felt like valued customers. All Accor membership is one of the best schemes I have belonged to it is great value. I would stay here again for sure.
