Stayed at the Como hotel last weekend instead of staying in the city for a change. Hotel is ideally located amongst the shopping and food places in Sth Yarra with tram and train services nearby. Our room was a suite but had a terrible outlook onto the roof air conditioning plant from the adjoining building. Check in was fine although we did notice people getting champagne on arrival which we weren't offered. The shower in our room was a mere trickle of water so not sure if other rooms have the same problem. Hotel service was good, we didn't eat in the hotel as too many other options nearby including the excellent SOS cafe up Toorak Rd. Hotel bar is now closed which was disappointing, hotel car park is nearby and has a better deal for self parking than the hotel offers. After checking out and reviewing my hotel bill found I had been charged for breakfast of $70, I find it incredible that hotels make this mistake so often, if you haven't signed a restaurant bill how does it end up on your bill? All up a good hotel and would return if the shower was improved.

If you love a large room and a hotel that is well located and is trying to regain it's market share with excellent service, small treats and upgrades - then you can go past The Como. A recent upgrade has seen attention to detail and it is full of small surprises.

A hotel at this price should have a simple coffee machine. The TV and access to channels hasn’t changed in 10 years. No ability to screen mirror or cast shows. Also no Bluetooth speaker to listen to music. I accept a refurb is a major expenditure, but these little things would help bring the room up to date a little better. They only had Murdoch newspapers to read in the foyer, again, a bit tired. And the “Signature “ free Limincello cocktail for Accor members could be (I did) think it was a fridge deodoriser.. But I’ll still say there because of great service and a comfy sleep. It’s time it gets better though.

I forgot how much I love The Como. 5 star staff 5 star room. Everyone is so lovely. I felt so at home. Breakfast was great as well. Location is really good on Chapel St. The suite I had was spacious, clean with a spa bath. Looking forward to staying once again at this wonderful place.

We stay at the como often and as usual there is nothing to fault. The staff are amazing and nothing is too hard for them. Maya goes above and beyond to make sure that our stay is always perfect and relaxing.
