Really disappointed with our stay at this hotel. Our room was tidy but not clean, dusty, stains, chipped tiles, mouldy. Very old and tired! Balcony unable to be locked and had construction material and panes of glass, buckets of cement amount other items so balcony unable to be used. We were not told of this when booked! The worst part was the heating would not work, in the middle of winter. We called down stairs and they came and checked it out but were unable to fix it, offered us two tiny blow heaters which we did not feel were safe to keep on over night, so we froze! We were told by management they are individually owned and they just managed them! Would not stay here or recommend anyone else do either!

i cannot believe this is part of the Sebel chain, the branding should be removed

I have stayed here many times over many years and I will never stay here again. There was rubbish in the bin from a previous stay, the balcony was prized shut with a block of wood and scaffolding on the balcony - i wasn't advised of work being done, the bed was broken and if you sat on the edge you ended up on the floor, the bathroom had a airvent patched with sticky tape, my internet didn't work and i had to ask twice for a code, there was no one on reception when I left.

Thank you for your feedback from your recent stay. We have been open about the façade works that are occurring, which is why access to the balcony was blocked as a safety measure. I am not understanding as to why this was not communicated to you when booking as we have ensured this information is on our and our partners websites. Absolutely terrible! Would never stay here again. It started with a 2 1/2hour delay to our check in; partly because they had run out of sheets. Then they made our king size bed with perhaps queen sized sheets- sideways - top and bottom!! The place is filthy and in desperate need of maintenance. I don’t think the air con intake filter had ever been cleaned. The fridge had mould in the back. The lock from the balcony to our children’s bedroom was held on by one flimsy screw. The dishwasher leaked all over the kitchen floor and onto the living room carpet. The clothes dryer doesn’t have a filter so it spews lint all over the place. We raised all of these issues with reception. The only thing fixed was our sheets.

Awful experience

We booked and stayed at The Sebel for one night with our family of five (two adults and three children). We booked a two bedroom apartment, which looked lovely online. Upon entering the room, it smelt like mould. Curtains and carpet were all mouldy and covered in brown stains. Everything looked old and unkept. We had booked for three children, but because the second bedroom only had two single bedrooms, we were told while checking in that there was a fold out sofa for our other child. This was no issue. I had written in the notes, twice before arriving, to ask if the bed could be made up. When we got to the room, the sofa bed had not been made up, so we unfolded it to do it ourselves. What we found inside the sofa when we unfolded it was really disappointing. There were co2 chargers (obviously previous guests had been huffing the gas out of them to get high). There were about 6 or 7 of them left inside the sofa lounge, which obviously had not been cleaned at all. (Photo attached). My husband went down to complain to reception about what we had discovered and he said he’d send a manager up straight away to clean it and make the bed up for my 7 year old son. In lieu of what had happened, he offered us a complimentary sparking water. Bizarre. Anyway, awful experience. Dirty, run down, smelly, and an all round gross place to stay. We have stayed in so many hotels all around the world, and I must say I’ve never gone to the effort to leave a review on trip advisor before. This is by far the worst place we’ve ever had to stay. We thought about checking out but it was too late to drag our three children out again at dinner time. It is definitely not 4 star. A caravan would have been a nicer experience.

We've booked for 2 nights and the service we get was disappointing. We arrived at around 8pm the bed was not made. Excuse we get is shortage of staff - linen was not delivered on time for some reason they can't control... The kitchen and the laundry was not fully cleaned up. Someone else's plastic bag is left in the kitchen drawer and previous customer's underwear is left inside the washing machine. Fridge is not turned on took ages to find the switch... Can't believe all this can happen in a professional or 4 star hotel. Although it is well located and room facilities are ok we will definitely not stay here again!
