I visited family in Brisbane and stayed at the Sebel in the city. The location is convenient and staff were friendly. The Duty Manager Ken always assisted my mum and myself with a smile. He was not only professional but warm and personable. Thank you Sebel team for a wonderful stay.

Cheap and mean

Cheap breakfast, very stingy, not a buffet, and there was no specification about breakfast when booking. When I arrived I was told the breakfast was "a la carte" which means one item of a menu, and when I wanted to modify, or add an extra items to my breakfast (like extra eggs), I was told this would be an "Extra Charge". (I didn't order juice so this was a "saving" to the Hotel, which they ignored). When I tried to bring the "extra charges" up with management at checkout they refused to remove the extra charges and instead offered me a 10% discount on the "extra charges" - ie about $2.90 off! How tight and mean is that? The rooms are old and tired. In my room the carpet was all wrinkled and lifting up. There is a lot of loud construction noise close by outside of the Hotel from building of a high-rise tower block including cranes and jackhammering/power tools and this was not explained on their website. The construction went until 10pm at night and then also during the night, including construction noise at 3.40am. Could do better!!!

We do offer an A La Carte style breakfast instead of a buffet; we will review our communication methods around our breakfast offering and ensure to update so future guests are well informed. We are also sorry to read about the disruption caused by external construction works. This is not the usual feedback we receive; if we are notified in advance of overnight works, we do communicate with guests accordingly. I am also pleased to advise that we currently working through replacing carpets in guest room. Fiquei 15 dias e os lençóis da cama não foram trocados nem um dia. As paredes da cozinha tem respingos de gordura e o carpete não estava limpo (encontrei fios de cabelo que não eram meus).

Ho trascorso 3 notti in questo hotel e mi sono trovato benissimo. La posizione è perfetta per qualsiasi necessità di spostamento e l'area si dimostra tranquilla e ricca di servizi. La camera era spaziosa, tranquilla, ben insonorizzata e dotata di ogni comfort. Il personale si è dimostrato gentile e disponibile, soprattutto per risolvere un enorme problema con la mia valigia smarrita dalla compagnia aerea. Lo consiglio senza dubbio.

Disappointing.

I stayed in one bedroom apartment for 2 nights. Unfortunately this is another Accor that has let the name down. While the apartment was spacious, the bathroom/toilet was ridiculously small. The toilet hidden behind the door and the shower was over a bathtub. As an older person, this can be problematic climbing up into a bath to take a shower. On check in I confirmed that all charges would be covered by my company including room service, breakfast etc. I then proceeded to order room service breakfast the first morning and the person taking the order firstly asked me to 'hold on a tick' and I ended up hanging up after a long wait. I phoned back and she took my order and proceeded to tell me that I couldn't have breakfast as it was not covered. I tried to argue the point and got no where. I then phoned front desk who again confirmed that it was covered. Front desk then ordered my breakfast but some extras didnt arrive and I frankly couldn't be bothered arguing again. I asked for a newspaper each morning but this didn't arrive at all. I asked for a restock of milk and minibar via a note on the kitchen bench but this also didn't happen. I used a towel in the swimming pool which left me with one towel and this was also not restocked.
